Good Gift Items But Mixed Quality and Delivery Issues
I purchased several wooden gift items from Sowood and have mixed feelings about my experience. The product designs are attractive and make excellent gifts. The cheese boards and decorative wooden items I received were thoughtfully designed with nice finishes. However, there are some concerns worth mentioning.
The quality is somewhat inconsistent. One of my items arrived with minor scratches and cosmetic defects that weren't reflected in the product photos. While these didn't affect functionality, I expected better for the price point. Additionally, the wood grain and finish details varied between identical items ordered at different times.
Delivery was slower than expected. My order took nearly three weeks to arrive despite paying for standard shipping. The packaging was adequate but could be more protective for premium wooden goods. On the positive side, their website navigation is intuitive and the checkout process is smooth.
Customer service was responsive when I inquired about the cosmetic defects, though the solution offered was limited. For the price, I believe there are comparable alternatives with better consistency. The products are nice gifts, but overall quality control and delivery timelines need improvement.
