Medical billing platform works, but interface is confusing
Our small medical practice started using MyDocBill three months ago to manage patient billing and payment processing. The platform integrates with our existing electronic health records system, which was important for reducing duplicate data entry. The setup process took longer than anticipated—about two weeks instead of the promised five days—primarily because the onboarding documentation was sparse and we needed multiple support calls to configure everything correctly.
The payment processing functionality works reliably. Patients can view their bills online, set up payment plans, and receive automated reminders about upcoming due dates. This has reduced our staff time spent on billing calls significantly. However, the user interface feels outdated and not intuitive. Simple tasks like generating monthly reports require navigating through multiple menu layers, and the search function frequently returns irrelevant results. Our office manager spent considerable time learning workarounds for basic operations.
Customer support responds within 24 hours, though their solutions often involve lengthy manual processes rather than system improvements. The pricing is competitive for practices our size, and we haven't experienced any downtime. While MyDocBill accomplishes the core billing functions we need, the clunky interface and learning curve make it less efficient than we hoped for our practice workflow.
