Farcical

These reviews are an interesting mix of mainly good and occasionally terrible Sadly my experience is the later I got a quote for my motor home some months ago The staff member had good knowledge and gave a reasonable quote Circumstances delayed me coming back to AIB to requote and when they did it was for the same price During the call the staff member claimed that they only honoured the original price through his negotiations with the company and that he had saved me 120 as a result I had no reason to believe otherwise and took out the cover The following day I received an email with details of the cover Amongst those details was the price charged by the insurer which was two thirds of what I had paid I queried this with the same staff member at AIB who advised that this was the basic cost and the additional cost was for additional cover none of which had been explained in the original sales call or indeed offered as an option I asked for details in writing of this additional cover which when received looked exactly like the basic policy with no additions At that stage I went to a different broker and asked for a quote on the same terms as I had given AIB only to find that the quote was exactly the same as that given by the insurer being 2 3 of the price of AIBs cover I now wrote to AIB cancelling the cover as advised in their terms within the 14 days statutory period for a full refund I also asked for confirmation of cancellation I became concerned when I had no response four days later I wrote again asking for the same at that point whilst also requesting recordings of the telephone conversations and notes using a Subject Access Request as these would show both mis-selling and fabrications Today is day six and there has been no response Readers will no doubt judge for themselves but as I sit here I am very dubious about this company profiteering through deceit of their customers Note following the intervention of one of the AIB seniors this has been sorted out to my satisfaction - the cause being a new and inexperienced staff member Refund of the difference on the way to me and cover re-instated Management were upfront about the faults so fair enough and no hard feelings

Extremely disappointed

Not recommended at all Paid nearly 400 for motorhome insurance Got asked for a copy of my driving licence I paid all the money up front I sold my motorhome just three months later And could not find who had insuranced my motorhome I had nothing in writing I had no email of the policy I phoned a few companies to ask if I was insuranced with them I then found an email from aib no policy number no documents But phoned them And cancelled my policy And heard nothing 20 days later phoned and asked What about my refund Were I was told Their ain t one I was told by Darren It s like buying a sandwich from sainsbury s Having a bite Then asking for your money back It funny dvla sent me my road tax back for the months I did not own the motorhome I m not the only one this has happened too Should have paid by direct debit Could have stopped it myself Not leaving at this AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE

I would not use this firm again Be carefull

AVOID Spoke to 2 people at this firm recently first Chris then Jenna Joke company call themself AIRSPORTS INSURANCE yet couldn t give me a quote for paragliding in spain because no-one was available to do one and apparently it s not what they specialise in Strange thats the first word in the company name though Then tried them again a few weeks later for a quote on the Porsche which I currently have with Aviva PC Laughable they tried to stick me with the worst underwriters going MARKERSTUDY who are garbage Not to mention I could hear some very inappropriate conversations going on in the background throughout the call taking place in the call centre

Awful doubled my insurance

I would not use this firm again They renewed my insurance without asking even tho i stated i wanted it canceled and even sent a email Before i left they asked me why im leaving i told them because its cheaper elsewhere and told me i should get a qoute from them incase only for it came back more money which was as expected Then when i requested my no claims i was told even though i have 10 they only go upto 9 so thats all they can send me instead of just sending a email confirming i had 10 they were being deliberately awkward This is terrible service and not good practice I am also in the forums and will I eventually post of them aswell if i do not receive my full 10 years

Do I have to leave one star Have called 4 times to get a copy of my insurance The one they sent had incorrect registration details and the premium was 300 not 90 as per the policy Called one person who though it was funny that I have called multiple times and sarcastically sniggered down the phone

Covered until you need to make a claim

Had a trip to Spain for march got travel insurance and ended up cancelling because of the COVID-19 outbreak Now they changed to say that the cancellation isn t covered by the insurance Nice to see that insurance applies only when you don t need to make a claim Once you do everything changes Stay away from AIB insurance they look like a scam to me Disgusting

Let down terribly by very poor service

I ve been a customer if AIB for 3 years and unfortunately experienced for the first time the extent of their poor customer service and support just when I needed it the most On a non-fault claim In short I was left high and dry to sort out and arrange pretty much everything myself Their legal provider United Legal whist initially assisted to ensure the 3rd party bore full responsibility of the claim did nothing more Although hardly an effort required since I had dash cam evidence and the 3rd party was very cooperative and easy to deal with That was the extent of United Legal s support AIB did virtually nothing and had to be pushed into providing assistance All of this account is backed by email communications thankfully since yet another failing of AIB was that whenever they chose to communicate it would be over the phone and on most occasions when I was in work meetings despite my written request for them to communicate by email They were also alarmingly unable to source a suitable repairer leaving me do so myself and arrange everything while paying the price in time to do it and waiting for weeks on end for them to revert I have since resolved everything post repair myself and I stress this without almost no assistance of AIB or United Legal I ve complained in writing and United refunded my 10 premium for the frankly based on my experience useless legal cover I have yet to hear back from AIB to this date and not holding out much hope in receiving compensation either Had AIB acted responsibly and in fairness given I was the non-fault party supported me throughout the claim process communicated promptly provided and managed a suitable repairer and facilitated my requests I would surely have had a different experience The only conclusion I can make based on my experience with going through the first ever claim in 15 years is this If I had dealt with the 3rd party insurers directly from the onset without involving AIB and their referral to United Legal I would have A concluded matters much quicker saving an enormous amount of time and associated expenses B been in a stronger position especially during the vehicle repair process and C far less stressed from the whole process To add insult to injury I was very promptly hounded by their renewal team before my policy was up for renewal The date of this experience alone shows just how long everything took and I dread to think if it was a fault claim

Awful they never reduce your polciy

Awful they never reduce your polciy each year instead increase it and hope you dont call in to complain
