These reviews are an interesting mix of mainly good and occasionally terrible Sadly my experience is the later I got a quote for my motor home some months ago The staff member had good knowledge and gave a reasonable quote Circumstances delayed me coming back to AIB to requote and when they did it was for the same price During the call the staff member claimed that they only honoured the original price through his negotiations with the company and that he had saved me 120 as a result I had no reason to believe otherwise and took out the cover The following day I received an email with details of the cover Amongst those details was the price charged by the insurer which was two thirds of what I had paid I queried this with the same staff member at AIB who advised that this was the basic cost and the additional cost was for additional cover none of which had been explained in the original sales call or indeed offered as an option I asked for details in writing of this additional cover which when received looked exactly like the basic policy with no additions At that stage I went to a different broker and asked for a quote on the same terms as I had given AIB only to find that the quote was exactly the same as that given by the insurer being 2 3 of the price of AIBs cover I now wrote to AIB cancelling the cover as advised in their terms within the 14 days statutory period for a full refund I also asked for confirmation of cancellation I became concerned when I had no response four days later I wrote again asking for the same at that point whilst also requesting recordings of the telephone conversations and notes using a Subject Access Request as these would show both mis-selling and fabrications Today is day six and there has been no response Readers will no doubt judge for themselves but as I sit here I am very dubious about this company profiteering through deceit of their customers Note following the intervention of one of the AIB seniors this has been sorted out to my satisfaction - the cause being a new and inexperienced staff member Refund of the difference on the way to me and cover re-instated Management were upfront about the faults so fair enough and no hard feelings
