Holistic Part Time

If full active with Massage Therapy Association can be lots of information but still feels like more work to be a part of than easy supplemental income with natural alignment inside our holistic lifestyle A simple national international license to work naturally when manifest with word contacts could be ever so appreciative still to balance out the sterile professional only standards Gratitude for caring about our profession and the vast developments inside of it

Massage therapy needs a rebranding

Hi folks This is going to sound rude but I felt that my association with AMTA was mostly irrelevant I appreciated some of the low cost training but any other benefits really didn t amount to much The magazine is awful I feel like you re just recycling articles from over the years with no new information Massage therapy has a lot to offer but without some kind of rebranding it s never going to get the credit it deserves Cheers

To be honest

To be honest I expect the AMTA to be lenient on LMT during Covid yet we were still made to pay fees to the organization when most of us lost our jobs income I did not qualify for any additional help nor could I collect unemployment While I like CEU s offered some free I really think AMTA should have done more to help LMT s financially during Covid

Good but just one limitation

A lot of update classes activities seminars etc available which is great however they are always offered and centralized at the same few locations and for me most times it doesn t make any sense to invest that much money -traveling lodging etc extra expenses- if I can get similar offers near where I am located for way too less Just as an example here in SoFla FSMTA has much better options for getting CEU s just for attending meetings and going to those meetings won t take even an hour drive I think the FL Chapter needs to be a lot more proactive how many MT are located in SE FL or Gold Coast that would be a good question to answer

Great value but lacks community feel

It is a great value in regards to educational events and insurance purposes The work they do to advance Therapeutic Massage as a profession is top notch but they lack community There is a huge break down in communication in organization between those who are in charge and the member The AMTA lacks the community feeling

Expanding benefits and increasing members in AMTA

Honestly I believe that Continuing Education department should offer the option that you can translate the courses to Spanish so that for Latin members be easily to make the courses In addition this could reinforced economics entrances to AMTA and by the way could be an attractive way to get more members

Benefits aren t all benefits

The cost is great particularly with the included liability indurance My problem is with the so-called benefits on the website Many of which are not any kind of a special discount or are not fairly offered to ALL AMTA members For instance if you already have a Square account you don t qualify for a discount through AMTA This is completely unfair Additionally companies like Quickbooks offer no special discount to AMTA members that can t be obtained by regular access to their website They are basically being given free advertising through AMTA but not offering members anything special for being allowed on the website AMTA needs to be more prudent in screening what is called a benefit and making sure these partners are treating ALL of us special and to a true discount
