Unsolved Defective MacBook Pro v16 1 Late 2019

Bought an awe MacBook Pro v16 1 Late 2019 as soon as released custom set with 64GB RAM 2TB SSD and 8GB GPU nearly 5000 on Apple Store Italy Since unboxing I had pretty bewildered to realize it lacks of every kind of connectivity except 4 redundant Thunderbolt-3 for every needing included power supply Perhaps Apple Engineers didn t considered that EVERYBODY needs a standard USB port in the first 10 minutes of usage without speaking of a LAN RJ45 socket and possibly the too-clever to be maintained Mag-Safe PSU port that saved my previous MacBook from accidental damages a lot of times Honestly I have not been surprised to see that Apple carefully avoided to include in the package an as inexpensive as needful multi-port USB-C HUB to allow the most basic connections that every user needs but I naively hoped at least to find a suggestion for an officially tested device to buy overnight as they didn t I had to spend a few weeks buying and returning at least 6-7 different adapters on Amazon until I found one almost working I mean - carrying all the required 87W of PD - running HDMI in 4K - have a Gigabit Ethernet instead of a 100 Mbps And never mind if the USB-A ports work only on alternate days thanks God I mean the Apple Engineers there is a great abundance of Thunderbolt ports to allow connecting another basic adapter to one of the other 3 ports always free as the machine has been specifically designed and advertised as a single cable connection dream but it s merely a cometic matter compared to the severity o what happened since the first days of production usage Starting from beginning I ve always been pretty terrified to accidentally bend the adapter plug breaking the very slim ThunderBolt port even because the genial Apple designers though that these fragile sockets should had to be integrated on the logic board in order to require the replacement of almost the whole machine the machine in case of a simple always possible port breakage maybe is that the reason why they planned to put 3 other spare ports Well the sad chapter of the story is about the strange behaviours started to happens already during initial setup of course aways working with tight a and unnatural care for the constant fear of stumbling in the USB-C connector - sudden freezes and or reboot in most different situations and resources load - overheating even when idle with exhaust fans always spinning at 100 - often not going to sleep status or not wake again after sleep forcing nasty hard resets - quick random display flickering - need to unplug and re-plug the USB-C adapter on regular basis as devices such as iPhone keep disconnecting - power supply disconnection starting to drain battery without notice - Etc etc etc Then after about 2-3 weeks the two right-sided Thunderbolt-3 ports stopped to work I ve sent the machine to a support center by courier they replaced in warranty THE FULL MOTHERBOARD and I ve got back my nice and fragile laptop a matter of days All these issues made me me suspect to own a deep defective unit or even a project issue so I ve sent a never answered certified mail to Apple Italy asking a reasonable full replacement What I miss to say before is that I ve been used to be an Apple Dealer for 15 years while I saw so many Mac models with a difficult birth having crazy issues for lifetime Last but least a couple of weeks ago the two right TB ports died once again exactly as the first time The funny thing is that I generally plug the all-in-one adapter on the left side so possibly the issue arose a few of days before I discovered it Now I really don t know exactly what to do learn to survive with troubles and repairs until the warranty expire then throw it away or hope that somebody from Apple Italy takes in charge my case ID 100934738089 s n C02ZTBKFMD6T Now let s see how serious is Apple other than great builder of so nice and loved products Will keep you updated EP--------------------------February 2012 update --------------------------after 3 repairs the first year the warranty expired so at the 4t issue again two thunderbolt ports gone I kept using it for some more months until it definitively passed away It shut down suddenly while working at 10 op CPU capacity RIP I quarreled bitterly with Apple and sold all the iMacs iPads and iPhones we had in the company and family we went to the PC Android World I took a nice Dell laptop and a Google smartphone the only one 100 pure Andriod and I regret not having done it before In comparison Apple s hardware is vertically falling down for quality and engineering while the software is full of bugs and glitches every new release looks like a Beta TOOO bad Apple
