Death by phonecalls

I ve been with Big Warranties for several years now because I just let the cover roll-over Recently they ve been trying to contact me to maximise the effectiveness of my cover I always get calls during office hours and so cannot take the calls The most recent call again today at 12 noon I did reiterate that I can t take calls during office hours and to be fair was told they had tried after hours but I m never available I still couldn t take the call so had to hang up which I hated being forced into doing as I don t like being rude but I had no choice I have decided that I now want to cancel my warranty but guess what You can t do this over the phone instant karma I now have to email or write a letter stating my warranty number amongst other things Absolutely no idea what my warranty number is as I took it out years ago So based on my most recent experience I probably would advise caution when considering taking out a warranty Easy to take out and pretty easy to claim but cancelling is probably purposefully made difficult

Engineer visit

We are yet to receive a report and advise in respect of the engineer visit on Tuesday I take that back Today I got feedback from them and they quoted us a price exactly 10 731 20 cheaper than British Gas homecare

A month and a joke

It s been almost a month and I have the same conversation about my washing machine Now I have been informed that after being told it would be better to scrap my washing machine The engineer has put in a order for the parts I need after taking less then a minute to tell me what was wrong with my machine What a joke On the upside I have a Warrantie on a washing machine I no longer have Warning do not always click on the 1st site the Internet shows you

Polite

Polite friendly and able to log my repair claim with no fuss An issue with my payment card wasn t able to be sorted meaning a call back but not the fault of Laura the person I spoke to

Good service but listen more

They give great service don t get me wrong but I couldn t hear them very well on the phone and he talked a bit quick Also there needs to be a quicker service for people who are disabled I kept trying to tell them but not sure if they noted it down I need my washer dryer ASAP

Could improve the response time

I reported the electric problem on 27 Sept early morning claim no NPA1912344 and I was assured engineer would come between 3-8 pm Didn t On calling they Assured he would be here next day early morning Again no sign My fridge cooker washing machine boiler nothing was working This was my first time in 7 months of taking this cover reporting a problem I had to call them multiple times explaining the urgency As against the promised 4 hours the engineer came after 33 hrs and thankfully fixed the problem Meanwhile all of the food in my fridge had gone waste I expected better service from my home emergency cover They need to improve the customer care their contractors provide

Confusing and expensive

Found Go Assist online when our Smeg Cooker suddenly packed up They offered a repair at a reduced 89 if I took out insurance on the cooker at 13 95 a month The repair was booked The engineer came out looked at the cooker and said the element had packed up but he had a new one on his van and that I should look at my phone There I found an email saying I needed to pay another 107 for a small circle of wire before the repair could continue I did pay as we needed the oven working but I was disappointed that this had never been pointed out beforehand It did have an option to cancel repair but I would have lost my initial 89 Now I am committed to Big Warranty insurance for a year Hopefully future callouts will be less expensive
