Deceptive business practices starting to look like a Ponzi Scheme

We received a custom build from Bob s Containers after a long process with multiple communication issues We received the container with plumbing and electric rough in so we could have a framing inspection in MD Unfortunately the container quality was poor and not built to IRB code which is what our local county follows and does not have any county specific requirements We were assured it would meet code For example each bedroom did not have a wired smoker detector and one of the plumbing drain junctions was installed backwards Furthermore the water lines were installed too close to the outside container wall making it impossible to get the amount of insulation required by code to insulate the water lines As a result we have had to pay locally to have these things repaired We are now awaiting a default judgement hearing from small claims court We were assured that we would receive a 14 000 refund on shipping costs because we were able to find our own shipping company to transport the containers We were told this would take about a week but the following 3 weeks we did not receive any response to follow up emails until the last week at which we were told we would have a release contract by the end of said week No contract was ever generated and thus we filed in small claims court Of note there is adequate evidence and support by two attorneys that Bob s breached their contract with regards to failure to notify of delays thus opening the door to be able to file claims against the company and it s workers They were served by the court system in Travis County and never responded by the court s deadline which is why it is now moving to a default judgement I will update this review as we continue in this process Of note we wrote a review a few months ago when we were having communications issues which was the only way to get Bob s to respond to us They agreed to build the container but advised us we were violating a non-disparagement clause in our contract and to remove the review There is no such clause in our contract and we have documentation supporting that Bob s Containers has violated their own contract which would make any such clause voided anyways All of the above information is factual and supported by email communications with the owner of Bob s Containers their COO and other staff With regards to the inspection issues we have documentation from a master electrician and plumber as well as two county employed building inspectors We also reported this to their financing company LoanGlide so they are aware of the current practice of a business they are servicing Since they never responded in small claims court and it is going to a default judgement Bob s Containers is now accruing fees on top of what they owe us This essentially means they don t have the money to pay us back

Wow check out their Yelp reviews - 3 1 5 and none of them actually sound fake Update 11 7 2023 Just finally got around to posting his communication referenced below If Bob s is offering incentives for positive reviews please let me know Update 10 28 Bob had once again said he was going to pay and deadline was yesterday Never heard back He also wanted this review taken down to free up more capital for some sort of project so he could pay me back more quickly will post that email shortly I ve noticed many of the 5 star reviews lately are from people who haven t actually purchased anything based off some of the wording or purchased but haven t even started the build process or received there unit Make what you want of that but to me seems fishy on top of wanting my review removed to open up more capital Can t help but wonder if reviews are being incentivized Regardless I d encourage anyone dealing with this company to either 1 go elsewhere 2 don t review a company on a product you purchased but have not yet received and 3 do not sign a contract that states final payment has to be made before they ll deliver Update 10 17 23 On 9 13 I sent a more than fair settlement offer which Robert Balderas accepted but then refused to pay so we had a pre trial hearing on 10 13 for which he was not present and now the hearing is scheduled for January We decided to send a settlement offer because we would rather be done with this and have money in hand Now we will be going after the full amount in January Background We hired Bob s Containers for a custom built container home in February 2022 with an estimated completion date of April May We had multiple issues with getting the container started and at one point their staff said we could cancel the project since the containers weren t even scheduled to be built and we would get a refund after a release agreement was sent The agreement was never sent and then the owner contacted us and said there were no refunds That became a whole other issue but ultimately all were in agreement to build The container was started in July to be completed at the end of August We were contacted by their finance department on 9 14 2022 and told the container would be ready to ship in 2 days time and required the remaining 50 balance over 50 000 which we paid immediately Turns out the container was not even close to being ready and would not be ready until the first week of October 10 4 At that time they were unable to find a company to ship the containers in a timely manner and I asked if we could find our own shipping company I was told this was fine as long as they Bob s had a chance to speak to the company to ensure they were capable of providing safe delivery Craig Turner Logistics along with Dustin Hill the COO both were involved and confirmed the company we found would be fine and they would process our refund as soon as the containers left their lot We paid 15 000 to Bob s Containers for shipping prior to this as part of the initial invoice There would be a 500 fee per container withheld for shipping prep reasonable with a refund of 14 000 Our shipping company picked up the containers on 10 7 2023 We reached out multiple times after they were picked up and initially were told the refund process would be started and then they stopped responding for around two weeks They eventually surfaced and said they needed to process a release contract We ultimately filed in small claims court at the end of October We had a hearing in February to which Bob s did not show up We received a default judgment in our favor however Bob s attorney surfaced within the appeal time period and filed for a new hearing I ve attached the email communications with regards to shipping refunds as proof of above as well as when their finance team reached out for final payment As noted before we had many issues at the start of the container build and we did have some quality issues including failed code inspections

These people are crooks

These people are crooks I have a 85k judgment against them for breach of contract I also have been contacted by someone else with the same problem

Do NOT use Bobs Containers

Container was delivered months late and not up to code We had to pay out of pocket to fix this They also owe us over 10 grand but won t give it back Run far away from this company

SCAM FRAUD

SCAM FRAUD If I could provide negative stars I would Where do I start These guys are of the upmost dishonest shady company in the US period I ll start from the beginning My parents are elderly My dad is very ill with Parkinson s disease My dad is a United States Navy veteran My mother has the early stages of dementia We moved them to my property so my wife and I could help with their conditions We saw a tv show that had a container home from Bobs Containers We called them up and a few weeks later we sent them roughly 50k The very next day before they even started the build we canceled the build after consulting the floor plan with my dads doctors we all agreed this was not the best fit Bobs containers agreed with a signed contract stating they would return the money Well that was about a year ago They have not returned a penny So I guess it is Bob Balderas the owners directive to his staff to rip elderly sick people off for their savings I know this review will be removed because I am not an avid reviewer Well I will keep reposting because this is the truth and I do not want to see ANYONE else get scammed like my family did If you have had the same or similar experience please feel free to contact me Thank you for reading this lengthy review

STRONG REC TO NOT USE BOBS CONTAINERS TO BUILD YOUR HOME Shockingly poor experience that included a rep who was 20 minutes late to our first ever phone call with no notification who went on to be unable to simply write a basic email manipulated us into paying for a feasibility study that ended up being a week late just to find out they never did it at all wasting nearly a month of our building process putting us behind Other issues of note - Quotes often thousands over other companies with no explanation- Rude ineffective and unintelligent representatives - Horrific customer service that includes simply no response when questions asked about obvious failures on their part- Dramatically overpriced with no explanation- Selling designs they ve never produced- Requiring up to an additional 5-10k on top of the asking price for any type of design to be used for permitting to actually use the unit on your property- Unclear process that results in wasted time and scamming moneyMy husband and I were so astonished by the poor quality of this company Please do yourself a favor and save yourself time money and effort and go to another builder Pretty close to anyone else is better

I Strongly advise against using Bob s Containers to build your home due to numerous issues These include the company s failure to honor the warranty non-compliance with building code standards delayed completion very poor communication and unprofessional behavior from the owner - Water pipes froze at 20 degrees building code standard was not followed and we had to relocate all the water pipes in the house Bob s refused to cover the repair cost - The HVAC equipment came dead on arrival - They refused to fix the issue unless we signed a form releasing them of all responsibility including the 1-year warranty - The HVAC equipment did not comply with the building code there was No Disconnect Boxes - Oversized HVAC unit was installed in the Bedroom causing the unit to continually short cycle- All the doors came wracked upon delivery and would not close properly they did not honor the warranty- They lost the keys to the house and we had to have a locksmith replace all the door keys- Incorrect shower faucets installed resulting in visible patch after the repair - Unprofessional owner with final say on decisions I have all communications and pictures of the issues and I am more than willing to share more details if it helps you with your decision

PONZI SCHEME They stole my money for a build so I have been reaching out to current and previous customers and employees and have come to several conclusions They are using old clients money to pay for new project s builds They are lying to new customers clients and investors They cannot even afford to process regular payroll It is expected that the company go under shortly especially after suspected fraud Also they are paying under minimum wage for international outsourced employees They are living in storage containers with no running water on the site This company is COMPLETELY unethical The only way to get your money back is to hire a lawyer and they have several active lawsuits so good luck STRONG REC TO NOT USE
