I ve used Buyee for a few years now and

I ve used Buyee for a few years now and in recent times the prices of postage have gone up rediculously and the storage of a few items pooled at their site for despatch together seems to have gone by the wayside I will only use them now when i really want something and prepared to pay Also - silly page requiring I choose a postage method when of all the options - I only have one

Expensive shipping hidden but good services

Buyee is a great website to connect you to Japanese shops where you can find rare and valuable pieces that you can t find elsewhere However be mindful of the drastic increase of total cost due to shipping When I purchased my first order on Mercari I was unaware of the extra shipping that has to be paid to ship from Buyee warehouse to Australia What seems to be reasonable price for your item can easily triple of quadruple due to shipping expenses Buyee is easy to use and their services are simple and straight-forward for me at least Their customer feedback speed can vary and can be sometimes inconvenient but it is helpful Take this opportunity to review your selections and options carefully on Buyee and elsewhere so you can get your best or only deal I strongly suggest only buying registering on buyee when they are special events like coupons on items or shipping Alternate websites that you should consider are FromJapan Amazon jp and zenmarket highly recommend for cheaper and more reliable shipping services Edit I have purchased from Buyee a couple of times only when they had coupon events etc and it s almost hassle-free and a pretty good experience for me Whenever an issue pops up the online customer service is helpful and kind However sometimes it takes 2 hours to a day for them to reply back so it s a bummer Otherwise I do only recommend their services when they have COUPONS On another note it takes about 1-3 days for Buyee to actually put newly uploaded mercari items onto their website so to get all the good and hidden items I suggest popping onto the mercari jp website first before clicking the link to buy on buyee

One bad experience can undo years of good

I ve been a very loyal customer of Buyee for years now and always had nothing but great experiences until now I ve consolidated a few packages before and it s been great - each time they put everything in paper or plastic bags and then all into a box automatically so I assumed that was standard procedure However today I m writing because of a VERY negative experience I bought a big pillow and a postcard set then consolidated them Simple right You d assume that they d put the postcard set into a paper bag and slip it in with the big pillow No This time they ve taken both packages and put them together into a bigger box What was 37 shipping is now 67 shipping After back and forth with customer service I received this To ensure that your package will not be damaged during transportation our warehouse staff will pack your items in the most appropriate way according to the plan you have selected Reducing weight or downsizing of a package may drop the buffering function and could increase the risk of damage during transportation However if you would still like us to forward your request we can proceed if you agree to waive your plan Please note that if you agree you will not be refunded for the plan fee and also there will be no compensation for lost damaged packages Please consider before agreeing In summary I paid for insurance but if I want them to put a small POSTCARD SET into a box with a pillow I have to give up my insurance entirely or pay 30 extra shipping I m so upset The only reason that this isn t a 1 star review is because of the years of great service I honestly feel betrayed right now

My experience with Buyee as a new user

I decided to use Buyee for the first time to buy merch from Mercari I got a couple of mangas and a clear file money transactions went smoothly nothing bad happened One package took a little bit of time to arrive at their warehouse because the site didn t update the status of it So I contacted Customer Service to ask them about that and they actually replied to me really quickly after 24 hrs After one day that I got their reply the item status was updated and all good The reason why I m giving them three stars is because of my items arriving in perfect conditions I paid for the EMS service as well but when it comes to prices this proxy is not the best one I ONLY recommend you to use this website when there are coupons discounts otherwise the shipping is going to be very very expensive That s what I basically did since I have a coupon discount to use for my shipping costs So from 40 USD went to 17 USD which is pretty nice if you ask me The shipping taxes here are truly exaggerated they were two times more expensive than the items that I ordered TL DR just buy from the website when there are shipping discounts and also look for the reviews of the sellers sites that you are planning to buy stuff using Buyee Sellers sometimes specify that the items may not be in the best conditions and you gotta be careful with it Once I got an item that had a little scratch on the surface but that s because the seller specified that in the item description Always read item descriptions and contact the sellers before doing your purchase if it s necessary

Simple and easy to use but

Simple and easy to use but there are better options out there Lots of fees and shipping can be fairly expensive plus I find the amount of packaging used when I have not ordered anything requiring protective packaging to be excessive and somewhat wasteful I don t need a giant box filled with bubble wrap for a few t-shirts It s not all bad though I do recommend spending the extra 500 yen for inspection and insured delivery when ordering items listed for over 50 as well as ordering more than one item at a time since it s more worth your money to have a consolidated package shipped than to spend nearly 30 to ship one small item also make sure to look at the original listing on Mercari Japan to make sure the seller has been active recently They ll refund you if something doesn t get shipped after a couple of weeks but checking first will save you the hassle of having to wait for a refund An improvement I ve noticed I ve been pleased with how quickly they purchase your requested item s as it s been a problem in the past where my purchases would get sold before they could buy it for me so props for that Occasionally they ll complete purchases and then later cancel them with no explanation which is a little frustrating Would likely give 3 5 5 stars if that were an option on here overall not bad but not the greatest either

Overall the service is ok but expensive when compared to others Context I ve made only 1 purchase since this seems to be the only proxy that works with mercari jp I ve used quite a few proxies over the years and currently there are a couple that I use regularly My impressions - Really bad that they don t offer an option to charge you in JPY and instead they use their own exchange rate which is just bad That s like an extra fee and I hate those - Service shipping are expensive - Even for Mercari it s not like you can buy anything there It seems that it s related to how long the item is available before you can use Buyee for it but I m not sure - The big plus is that they had a 5000 yen coupon for delivery for first time users That made my international shipping free Overall I wouldn t use them again I m sticking with my current proxy If I need to use Mercari again I ll try to find a different proxy that works for them

Recently just had a bad experience I m buying through buyee from a seller in mercari Japan R is the seller Bought some the new pokemon scarlet and violet booster box He showed a picture of a sealed booster box of scarlet and violet I read the description and the translation said sealed with shrink Then I got my order and all packs were in plastic bag I opened 30 packs and not 1 reverse holow or hollow was pulled I ve been scammed I went back to description page to check on what it said and it was changed to loose packs don t refund etc It s not buyees fault but hope something can be done It s hard to go by smiley faces when buying overseas Wish we can write reviews straight from buyee to warn others of these scammers while shopping overseas

stressful

i brought 1 item with a 2000 starter coupon one item without my item i used a coupon for wouldnt arrive and after about 15 days got cancelled then i ordered a small item which also got cancelled after 14 days my 1st item was still in inventory but because my other items took so long to be cancelled i missed my international shipping coupon by 1 day and paid 25 for an 8 t shirt its not exactly a bad deal for clothing but I could have paid 23 for a tshirt dress and set of posters if youre like me buying small items on buyee your chance at getting something value for money is a complete lottery i ended up becoming frustrated at all the little loopholes of the coupons and my buying experience became more stressful than enjoyable
