A little disappointing

I visited the salon for crystal clear deluxe microdermabrasion couple of days ago and can t help but be a little disappointed with the experience I feel that the treatment was professionally carried out and although my skin feels lovely and soft and now looks refreshed the rest of the experience that was a let down My therapist seemed a little cool and unfriendly I was not given any explanation as to what to expect during the treatment what clothing to remove just shown the couch and asked to get on also the first time I have not been given a consultation form tick box to complete before a treatment I realise that the treatment is not a relaxing one but having the lights dimmed a blanket and some relaxing music rather than the eclectic mix of pop music would have enhanced the experience I feel it s a shame as there are so many fantastic reviews

Average back massage

I ve been here previously for a few massages probably over 2 years ago and it was excellent This time my massage was OK but not as good the staff seemed less experienced

The technician wasn t able to treat all

The technician wasn t able to treat all areas that I wanted her to the previous technician was able to and this is why I was disappointed For the money you pay for these treatments all technicians should be able to do what the client asks

There was a mix up with my appointment

There was a mix up with my appointment as was only booked for eyebrows when I wanted face threading so it was all a bit rushed The girl did what she could but had someone else booked in so had 10mins Lots hairs left and had to sort myself at home Usual a great service so slightly disappointed

It was ok

It was ok It was just a bikini wax But it felt a bit perfunctory which is unusual for Medispa I m used to therapists engaging in conversation but it did feel a bit like I was being asked 20 questions in rapid succession Could have done with being a little more relaxed - but the waxing was fine

Eyelash extensions

I had a lovely experience at the clinic it was beautiful inside and the staff were wonderful I enjoyed my treatment and my extensions looked amazing at the time but I am now feeling a little annoyed It has only been three days and I have taken a great deal of care with my lashes but I am already seeing small gaps and I seem to be loosing many lashes I have never had extensions before but I m pretty sure they are supposed to last longer than 3 days After paying 80 this is a little disappointing

Not delivered

I arrived 10 mins late for an hour app Not warned up front my treatment was shortened to 25 mins the equipment was good and my skin definitely feels good the next day but I would prefer more squeezing of blackheads as I was promised in the initial consultation plus some work on the small fat deposit I mentioned in the consultation prior appointment it s always disappointing when they promised and not deliver but as its probably the best skin spa in York I will try it again

The Hydra facial was really good and my therapist was lovely But a couple of days after my skin feels dry and tight not smooth and refreshed

The reception team were great very

The reception team were great very polite and welcoming My clinician was very friendly and professional we talk through procedures I did ask about costs but was told they were the same When my procedure was completed I paid and departed I was subsequently called twice first to be informed I had under paid and secondly to be requested to pay more than double what I had already paid I was very shocked by this Today I am much more bruised than I have been in the past I would suggest that there needs to be clear communication with clinician both clinic receptionist and client to avoid confusion and embarrassment
