LMCU weak excuses

Housebound disabled person left without debit card for ten days and counting LMCU couldn t care less Can t shop can t pay bills nothing LMCU n inot prepared to lift a finger to help despite it being a problem of their creation Needs prosecuting for disability discrimination Their response was to make weak excuses and offer absolutely no practical help I remain trapped indoors unable to pay my bills or order food shopping They have made no allowances for disabled people which is illegal discrimination and has been reported to the Equalities Commission Anyone with any honour would resign Work out the implications for yourselves Incidentally they haven t contacted me nor offered any actual help beyond hand wringing I ve just been dumped and left to suffer Absolutely appalling service Two weeks and counting that I ve been cut off from my finances I d be starving by now if not for the help of friends Next thing Southwark Council will be chasing me for not paying my rent and council tax despite it not being my fault Ironically Southwark Council is one of the backers of LMCU It would be funny if it weren t so tragic Update 16 12 they continue to bury their heads in the sand and refuse to return my phone calls They even tried to tell me l was mistaken and must be talking about another credit union However after a number of phone calls emails and especially negative reviews they finally got into gear and sorted the situation out in time for Christmas and offered rather modest compensation But they did promise to learn so fingers crossed

Where do I start

Where do I start firstly I gave one star as it s not possible to give zero stars I had previously applied for a loan and wasn t successful I got feedback after posting a comment about my experience advising to inform about my experience so it could be investigated After a few e mails I reapplied for a lower amount and again gave rationale that the loan would save me money as I could pay off some of my debts I got an e mail about myself that was wrongly sent to me I was labelled by the staff I found as it said don t worry about the one star rating just follow process around the rejected applicant absolutely disgusting Yes I am in debt but I earn 59k a year and need to consolidate some of my debts I ve never missed a loan payment and find that this company have been very disrespectful I am a health care worker and am disgusted by this company I also had to wait 2 weeks to find out I had been declined again and that was only because I asked how my application was progressing I was told an e mail had been sent on the 10th not the case at all today 21st I got the news that I had been unsuccessful

No surprise that I didn t get

No surprise that I didn t get feedback And data protection is an issue with this company when you read an e mail about yourself that should have been confidential and sent between the staff only I await for no feedback 31st March now no feedback but others have had feedback posted after me maybe I should copy and paste the e mail that was sent to me by accident and the apologetic e mail that I received due to that Update no feedback 1st April still no feedback surely a red flag to readers here Please don t think I m disgruntled as I was rejected as said in e mail as nobody owes me anything But as a healthcare worker with salary deduction and a wage that would support payments if debts consolidated I was not assessed properly and now ignored by this company union 4th April below reply noted but took quite an effort to be heard which led to the reply so thankyou for your time there was no follow up as written below after second issue just the token how did we do messages so I don t find that your response is substantiated Also I am more than aware that loan applications do not always have a favourable outcome so yes I will gratefully accept your option of utilising the complaints procedure The company did not act in the way that the modus operandi suggested and I just wanted people to know about my experiences

London Mutual Credit Unionis London’s largest community credit union, helping thousands of people make the most of their money. As a member-owned financial co-operative, it is run for the benefit of its 42,397 members rather than for profit. The organization has community roots in South London and beyond, serving residents for over 40 years. It operates workplace partnerships, enabling saving and borrowing direct from pay for the NHS, armed forces, and public sector employees.

Savings and Loans

Members can save regularly directly from their salary, benefits, or Direct Debit, with savings going straight into their account each month. The credit union offers dedicated Christmas and Holiday Savings accounts, and members’ savings help support affordable borrowing for others. When the credit union performs well, members may earn a dividend. Loan options include borrowing between £100 and £25,000 for any purpose, with affordable monthly repayments and decisions made by people, not computers. There is no risk to your credit history if a loan application is unsuccessful.

Mortgages and Current Accounts

The credit union provides mortgage options, including support for Help to Buy and NHS bank hours. It offers mortgages with rates as low as 3.64% (variable), no arrangement fees, and free, no-obligation advice. Members can borrow up to £450,000, and mortgages are subject to the credit union’s lending policy and terms. Current accounts come with a contactless Visa Debit card, online banking, mobile app access, and Google Pay and Apple Pay. Full account features include a sort code and account number for everyday banking needs.

Eligibility and Membership

Eligibility is based on location, employment, or affiliation.
