AI Review Summary Based on 75 reviews

Customers frequently report excellent performance and water resistance for Cuprinol products, particularly on sheds and fences over multiple years. Many praise the color range and durability, with some noting easy application and good coverage. However, a substantial number of reviews highlight serious issues including extremely poor adhesion, paint washing off within weeks, significant color mismatches between tin and applied finish, and products being too thin or watery. This indicates inconsistent quality control or formulation problems affecting user experience.

Preparation is key to lasting finish

If using on new decking leave for at least 3 weeks after fitting to allow pre treat chemicals used at saw mill to dry out before applying paint Use a product like Wet and Forget on decking to prevent algae forming on bare wood Once wood is dry apply a wood paint primer When dry then apply Cuprinol paint apply second coat when first has dried I know this sounds a lot of bother but preparation is key to having a trouble free job and longer lasting deck Same applies to older decking just remove old paint and follow as above

Well the ducks back silver copse I had

Well the ducks back silver copse I had on the fence was 5 or 6 years old and wore very well Bought misty heathland to go over the top of it as it looked a similar shade similar darkness It was totally different than the swatch on the tin it was more like cream colour But mistakes happen and Cuprinol went above and beyond to rectify it admitted the tin swatch was wrong fixing problems and making a customer happy is the sign of a good company thanks

Cuprinol cladding fence quick drying opaque rustic walnut

This review is for Cuprinol cladding fence in a green TIN bucket Not to be confused with all that wishy washy water based fence paint It s 50 odd for a 10 litre tin but trust me it saves faffing about with the water based ones in the 10 litre plastic containers which sell for 11 to 22 I tried Ronseal like water waste of time and money Then Johnstone s as above both crap This stuff will save you at least 5 hours I put this on 10 6x6 larchlap panels that are 9 years old that had been Previously painted red cedar about 6 years ago Which was over golden Chestnut 9 years ago 2 coats easily covered over it and one 10 litre TIN was enoughcuprinol-cladding-fence-opaque
