Untrustworthy and unreliable company best avoided
I ve been a customer of Earth Class Mail ECM for many years but the recent more-than-doubling of their prices from 14 95 to 29 and now to 79 has forced me to move to another better cheaper provider Anytime Mailbox The last time ECM doubled their prices in 2017 shortly after their bankruptcy they committed in writing that us loyal customers would enjoy a lifetime credit for an extra address and should accept the change on the basis that we will not be excluded from new features and improvements in the future Not even a year later they instead reduced service levels claiming it was not an economical business model Then a year after that September 2019 they reneged on their lifetime promise instituting a huge 70 price increase and charging for addresses As if that wasn t enough the premium San Francisco address is itself a forwarder meaning that my packages are more often than not being rejected this service currently costs 109 month before usage fees To add insult to injury I ve just learned from another irate customer that they plan to continue charging me for 6 months after I leave but there s no point discussing with them as they will just refer to clauses buried deep in their terms The best way to avoid the disruption and expense I m experiencing now is to avoid signing up in the first place there are plenty of other better options out there

pricing out of control once good now a scam
I have been using ECM since 2010 or so as an American ex-pat in japan It was once a godsend and now they know Im in the trap and leverage me They used to have reasonable pricing and good service The prices are now 2x what it was monthly through nickel and diming you but on top of that when you go to ship a package they really push you into something awful with an extreme price No reasonable choice One time I pointed out to them one stack of biz cards can fit in a flat rate box as a way to get reasonable pricing 20 instead of 120 or whatever they claimed I have no idea how they decide what packaging and price is acceptable but it will be really bad for you that s for sure Another example I got a replacement credit card i could chose awful first class mail for high fee or prioroty express for like 60 70 USD This is a SINGLE PAGE DOCUMENT When I get a friend to price shipping that item it s always now 1 2 or 1 3rd what ECM charges They nickel and dime you everywhere What was once a useful service at a reasonable price is now borderline scam where once they you are locked in with yuor address set to them they know they have you They charge whatever they want Way way way beyond fair shipping prices FEDEX is 20 similar for UPS on express Fedex and UPS options on ECM were like 60 to 120 USD for a single page document

I would give zero stars if possible They are rude price gouging and do not care about your mail or your business Since July I have spoken with one person to be told sorry They did not look into where all mail went nor did they care But they sure want that money from you furious Never again

RIPOFF Hidden charges blackmail
OK except for several bugs and most importantly THE SHIPPING IS EXORBITANT if you want a piece of mail sent to you its 9 75 for priority TO MAIL A LETTER This is the same price that I pay for a 2 pound shoebox Ive complained for YEARS about this and they won t listen also lets say you want two letters re-mailed to you it s 9 75 APIECE I am in ecommerce and I can attest that this is obnoxious It is exceedingly easy to get a competitive rate on shipping they just don t want to because they are doubling their revenue on these HIDDEN CHARGES Furious 100 chance they could get EXTREMELY low rates on shipping What they are charging is not even the business rate that literally any business can qualify for They are charging the same rates that you d have to pay if you walk into UPS or USPS and pocketing about 75 of the charge This makes me SOOOO MAD This is 100 a hidden fee that you don t find out about until you are locked in with them have told all the tax authorities about the new address 100 vendors etc etc What a nightmare It is just totally infeasible to change your location after you are all setup - or it would be a tremendous problem most definitely resulting in late penalties fines and possible losing your business registration It is VERY hard to move an operational business That pain is what they are leveraging to scr3w you out of funds They are dishonest liars and intentionally ripping us off Furious

I m the new Admin for the company
I m the new Admin for the company 2 weeks ago I found out on ECM billing record that ECM continues to charge on the corporate credit card which expired in 2019 until I updated it Although this is ex-Admin staff s fault ECM didn t provide alerts of any sort of expired or upcoming expiry This caused review of ECM charges being missed and my company wasted 200 month on storage charges of ready-to-shred items Christmas cards junk mails that were kept at ECM for over 2 years about 4 000 ECM charges are Monthly and Not fixed unlike godaddy com there s no excuse in keeping an expired credit card number forever easily be 10 years I dislike ECM s reply to this issue ECM passes the blame to payment rules and legal terms about banks processors behind the scene ECM does not seem to think there s any apologies to be made I thank ECM for no stoppage in services But even if there was a stoppage in services because the card expired it is a consequence that s very acceptable Customers should update and before interrupted services being resumed Furthermore any normal companies will at least send alerts to the companies before service being discontinued Indeed my company has this same cc expiry issue with AT T AT T sent out Monthly notices with kind words -- for 24 months Yes it s shocking that AT T is so persistent but the ex-admin staff was so daxn lazy and didn t read or ignored all the AT T notices

If you value your mail and your sanity stay far away from EarthClassMail
I opened up an EarthClassMail account a little over 2 months ago and I have yet to receive any mail shown in my inbox When I first signed up I followed all of the directions and began forwarding all of my mail and checks to the ECM address 2 months later and I m still waiting on getting my mail I ve opened multiple support tickets with their customer service who are absolutely useless and too incompetent to answer where my mail is in the ECM system If you value your mail and your sanity stay far away from EarthClassMail UPDATE The issue was with ECM s PMB Private Mailbox Number not being compatible with a lot of address senders systems This may be a unique problem to their phoenix mail receiving location but I m not too sure It took a while for me to figure this out on my own no thanks to ECM customer support and now I know why all my missing checks aren t showing up in my ECM inbox

Can t cancel
I started the service in December 2021 and realized it was not for me I cancelled the service did a change of address with post office so they could stop forwarding my mail Here it is 6 months later and Earthclass is still billing me I think it s a great idea but getting out if it is impossible For example they hav processed images of mail that has been marked by the post office it says you are not allowed to process this mail piece They even processed a standard piece of mail it s not fowardable Just use this if you never intend to move some place else

Grossly Incompetent
Earth Class Mail is one of the most incompetent businesses I have ever worked with Not only will they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING Earth Class Mail has actively denied my shipments and has lost valuable documents and packages with no effort on their part to investigate I was willing to pay premium prices for what was sold as premium services but my experience has been the complete opposite It takes several days for responses even in seriously escalated situations and their UI is such that if you send messages via the app they are not registered It takes multiple attempts to even get a response and when you do customer service is rude and unhelpful particularly Ashley T DO NOT use this service if you care about your mail
