I invested with st james place SJP which has changed names to Eight wealth but is essentially the same company Probably hiding from their poor performance So see my review below I don t know where to begin exactly but my advice is to simply invest in the benchmarks they compare themselves to You ll earn more money They cannot outperform these markets and with their enormous fees they significantly underperform This is in spite of what they may show you when promoting their funds I have been with them since 2019 but my money doesn t become mine until after five years If I want to withdraw it early I pay penalties for doing so Since my last deposit was made in 2022 my five-year period seems to start from then which means I m penalized even more for continuing to invest Currently my money is worth 9 less than if I had simply kept it under my bed Therefore it may be better to just accept the penalties now rather than lose more through their investment strategies I once requested a fund swap anticipating issues but it took them several weeks to complete the swap In my opinion this solidified the losses I believe I foresaw Unfortunately I can t be certain because the only information they provide is an end-of-year statement filled with colorful pie charts and no actual data I also requested to stop payments twice The first time they said I still had to pay the next month s deposit because it was too late to cancel It was still over a week before my money was to be taken Personally I think my broker simply forgot to submit my stop payment request The second and final time they were able to stop the payment immediately In conclusion my advice is not to invest with them Experiencing a loss is a risk you accept when investing My issue with SJP is that you give them your money but it doesn t become yours again until five years later Nothing is done at SJP with an acceptable level of speed

Keeping our money again they love your money
Nope This company has been ok until you try and get your money out It s as if they have never had to do it before They say 3-14 days It has been 2 months and since the original signing paper work no email no explanation no money We now owe the nursing home 10 000 who are thankfully patiently waiting The nursing home has been through enough with COVID They should not have to shoulder this kind of ineptitude and neither should anyone else This is the second time we have had this kind of issue with this company which changes it s name so often it is hard to keep up St James Place Eight Wealth Management SJP SJPP

Waste of time
Unbelievably incompetent They were recommended to me by financiable who set up a a Zoom meeting with Eight Wealth Management for Thu 18 Feb at 10am This was confirmed to me by email but in the event I received neither a Zoom link nor even a phone call I eventually rang them and was told by their very polite receptionist that they had not received any notification of this meeting nor any of the data I had laboriously provided to financiable A complete waste of my time

Dreadful I had no choice when Eight Wealth took over my St James account Complete incompetence Trying to get your money out is a real ball-ache They put every excuse they can think of Cannot wait to leave

Excellent client experience
My wife and I have been clients of Eight Wealth Management since retiring in 2019 They have been excellent throughout initially setting out a plan for our finances that demonstrated to us that we could afford to take early retirement while still remaining in a good long term financial position Since then we have had regular face-to-face reviews with Ian Riggs who we have found to be an exceptional adviser explaining matters to us clearly and succinctly while always keen to receive our own input It is also very reassuring to have this continuity of service rather than being passed from one adviser to another so it feels very much as if our ongoing requirements are well understood
