E ON EV04 Charger - Stay well clear
EonDrive Vestal EV04 installed by E ON in July 2003 and did not function properly until November 2023 4 months On installation the E ON engineer was unable to commission the charger due to repeated PEN fault s caused apparently by high voltage supply He contacted the DNO and an engineer turned up within an hour and tested the voltage supply to the property and found the voltage supply was within the permitted range The E ON engineer left leaving the charger disconnected Two weeks later another E ON engineer visited to commission the charger and after approximately 90 minutes after repeated PEN faults he got it to work and left I complained to E ON Drive and they advised I should contact the DNO to request that the supply from the substation be tapped down to a lower voltage At this stage I refused to pay E ON for the installation until I was confident the charger was fit for purpose The DNO placed a voltage recorder on the meter and again determined that the supply was within permitted limits I formerly complained to the DNO and the result was that as the voltage supply was within permitted limits 230 volts 10 253 volts max I should ask the installer to provide a different type of charger I supplied E ON with a copy of the outcome of my complaint from the DNO but E ON still maintained that there was no issue with the charger and the DNO was responsible as a voltage higher than 253 volts would cause the charger to cut out In November 2023 I received a call out of the blue from a DNO engineer who advised that the voltage at the local substation had been tapped down and since then the charger has performed generally well with a few PEN faults being experienced Over 15 months I have been passed between E ON and the DNO with each blaming the other I contacted E ON in February 2024 to advise that I was happy to negotiate a discounted settlement for the installation cost that reflected the inconvenience experienced while the charger was generally useless for over 4 months E ON contacted me yesterday demanding the full installation cost stating that the issue was not with the charger but with the DNO and that I should seek compensation from the DNO Tonight E ON have remotely disconnected the charger because it seems I won t bow to their bully boy tactics Dealing with E ON is extremely frustrating as they do not take responsibility or attempt in improving customer relations My advice is stay well clear Next step another formal complaint and hopefully for independent adjudication

Terrible charger
Terrible charger Just never works I tap the card and nothing I m getting it ripped out and replaced with a zappi When it works it works well but so temperamental avoid at all costs

The charger will not stay connected to
The charger will not stay connected to the WiFi Eon Drive know of the problem but are doing nothing to fix it Result I can t charge my car setting the charge to start at cheap rate I can only use the RFID Card

I m now on day 8 since my home charger
I m now on day 8 since my home charger stopped working and eon drive have not been in contact we re in a position where we re stressed and have two small kids to try and get back and to to school DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY They are and embarrassment and certainly don t care

Avoid charing with eon
Just an absurdly bad When you try to charge it simply doesn t work and gives you no meaningful error message Then you try 3 more times and it works Other time I got an error that it couldn t proces my payment info I go and remove my card add it again and it says card added successfully Then when I try to charge I get the same error I try with multiple different cards that has always worked fine and I get the same error I can t describe how frustrating this app is to use

Avoid the Vestel charger
I wish I have of read the other reviews before spending a 1000 for the charger On the plus side installation was good neat and on time The Vestel charger itself is not fit for purpose I keep getting the red ring of death and when that does not happen the charge disconnects from wifi ceasing charge and has to be hard reset from the fuse board This has lead to sleepless nights wondering if the car will charge overnight in order to drive to work the next day 120 mile round trip I have been using the charger for six weeks and the red ring has subsided but the general disconnect from WiFi happens around 3 times per week I don t understand why the unit does not auto re-connect to WiFi like every other appliance gadget The charger is by the front door right next to a ring doorbell which never looses connection The WiFi router is in the study above the porch so range or signal strength is not the issue it is the box itself

Rubbish Advice and back up service
I finally got a call from Eon who said it must be my wifi and that a wifi extender was required Ok so I popped out to my local Currys explained the problem and purchased a wifi extender Result - no change the charger will not stay connected It drops out after a few hours or longer Fortunately I have not paid for it and have told Eon either fix it or take it away NO RESPONSE so NO PAYMENT

EON Charger and App
Its the worst charger since I installed it the unit keeps losing connection with my Wi-Fi Virgin Router Hub 5 None of my other devices have the same issue including a security that is situated above the camera EON keep blaming the my Wi-Fi and have been no help at all Avoid installing an EON charger Complained to CDRL but they have been no help either
