TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER PAYING FOR THE BARCODES FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS THEY REFUSE TO TRANSFER THE BARCODES TO ANOTHER COMPANY THAT WE OWN THIS IS PURE NONSENSE AND WILL FILE A BBB COMPLAINT JUST LIKE PREVIOUS REVIEWERS THEY ARE EXPENSIVE AND A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY STAY AWAY THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS AND COMPANIES THAT SELL BARCODES FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST

If you buy a 10 pack of bar codes and
If you buy a 10 pack of bar codes and then need more down the road you re stuck paying two yearly subscription fees because there is no method for upgrading the number of bar codes that you license from GS1 This is complete BS I was told to give up my 10 bar codes to move to a 100 or unlimited pack The issue here is that Amazon Walmart won t let you change the bar code So it is not possible to discontinue use to move to a larger subscription This is not business friendly and I m not at all happy with GS1 policies or support It seems like this group is just in business to extort money How could it cost 2500 a year every year to maintain a block of UPC codes NonprofitLight shows revenue of 71M Total expense of 55M Net assets of 196M So this non-profit standards organization profited 16M in 2021 The CEO makes 2 1M CFO 786K SVPs 696 572 SVP Human Resorces 493K Me think that this outfit is about pocketing lots of money for the execs It s not really a non-profit in any sense

If you can use HIBCC instead DO SO
It d be easier to list what DOESN T suck about GS1 Actually I can t think of anything Their business is usury They sell very specific quantities of barcodes and if you grow you re essentially starting from scratch no way to expand under your existing company prefix Additional users are a 500 subscription for how long The website NEVER says Want to contact them Do NOT waste your time looking on the Help page Why are codes which you have paid for the use of in your allotment wasted and not retractable deletable Oh right so we HAVE to buy more priceless electronic digits that we have to pay for EVERY YEAR FOREVER CRAP COMPANY CRAP PRODUCT CRAP SUPPORT and on and on and on and on and on and onIf ANY other company figures out how to do global barcodes even competently GS1 will see an incredible exodus

Ridiculous
This company is hands down out of control I called to request a refund within 3 days for a mistake I made and realizing I did not need the barcodes I did not print them use them or anything When I called the rep said well if you read the terms of use before you paid it says no refunds little did she know I did read and downloaded the pdf and it says up to their discretion it didn t say just plain NO If it did I never would have bought the barcodes It should have certain instances listed where the answer is NO REFUND The lady said she wasn t aware the wording had changed maybe she needs to read them again herself because it was last updated in November 2021 almost a year ago When I talked to the supervisor he said they only give refunds if their website is having issues why not just say that in the terms and stop being so difficult and save us all some time This company is greedy no help and over priced as it is It s a shame they get to keep my hard earned money for something I haven t and will never use Just read the reviews please before you buy they don t lie I ve seen many people say they filed complaints on BBB and I may just do the same

Can I get an Antitrust anybody
To my smooth brain this seems exactly like a monopoly Plain and simple The rules processes are illogical and unfair No wonder small businesses fail at such high rates when they are literally forced to deal with a backwards organization like GS1 GS1 makes it exponentially more expensive for small businesses to use the same product and then creates confusing rules and ridiculous limitations that result in mistakes that are - for no good reason - impossible to fix or correct Simply clicking the wrong button entering the wrong number JUST one time can result in hundreds of dollars lost and another annual contract required to operate Support staff resources are unhelpful Use training videos seem to have hired a legal expert to speak as-to not incriminate themselves in anti-trust lawsuits If someone knows of a class action lawsuit against this organization please let me know Thanks
