Gusto was great and then this happened
I really loved Gusto I ve been doing payroll with them for about two months I recently referred them to 3 of my partners companies One in particular needed a new payroll company I raved about how great they were so they registered last week like Thursday or Friday and is dealing with the same authentication issues that someone else stated Which is weird Because i didn t have any issues when I signed up and his business brings in way more volume than mine and is even more established He said he provided all verification documents on Monday and they said one to two business days He called Tuesday Wednesday and earlier today I even tried calling on a conference Tuesday to see if I could understand the dilemma It s a week later and he still has not gotten cleared and has a project pending he can t pay out because the person was to be paid by this Friday I feel horrible that I vouched and spoke so highly I guess my experiences however positive doesn t always cross the barrier I did refer two more very substantial companies I asked them to wait on submitting their apps as I may have another company for them the problem is do I want to even vouch for that other company I ve been trying to assist but to no avail I m just glad this person is understanding of my faulty referral versus my other liaison who would have dragged me through the ringer for vouching for a company with shoddy business practices It s so unfortunate because my personal experience prior to referring was great He explained to me that if he has to call 4 times in one week be on hold for almost an hour today alone and still not be able to pay someone as promised what will happen when I m in that boat and there s technical errors preventing me from paying my contractors Has me thinking now I m conflicted My business surely couldn t afford a set back

Gusto is great so long as nothing ever goes wrong Gusto is pretty and easy and great in a lot of ways If you have a simple issue they re friendly and quick to fix it If you run a very small simple operation you ll love it However be ready to lose your mind the first time you run into a semi-complex issue It becomes apparent very quickly that the reps really don t know too much about what s going on nor do they care And they absolutely do not listen Be prepared for them to be infuriatingly patronizing while also not at all understanding the issue ad nauseam It will be drug out sometimes for the better part of a year if it s a particularly complex issue The IRS will likely be involved Every rep will promise to call you back and one or two actually might You ll follow up endlessly You may even get to have the problem fixed only to find out later from the IRS that not only is it not fixed it s worse Have fun

Gusto is OK but not ideal
The product is great to look at but not perfect 1 I think their customer service hours are far too narrow We are on the East Coast and have to wait until the business day is essentially halfway over to reach anyone 2 Employees could previously see a copy of their paystub detail when we submitted it - they could also opt in and receive an email notification and review what to expect with Gusto employees do not have access to their pay detail until their actual payday 3 We have a small team of about 30 but the banking institutions vary across these institutions employees are saying they are not receiving their actual pay until noon in some cases standard for US banks is 4am Small to some but as a nonprofit I can t fault employees needing their checks as soon as possible

Just add more people to work with you
Just add more people to work with you guys as most companies are switching over to Gusto I believed your current workforce can no longer accommodate your current customers requirements in a timely fashion

Love it
I totatly love it except I am a multis-state employer and they still don t support many states limiting the chances I may have to hire there also I really wish Independent Contractors could see their paystubs online
