The majority of reviews highlight excellent communication, supportive instructors, and a smooth training process, with many customers passing tests on the first attempt. Some reviews note issues with pricing and occasional mis-selling or delays in booking. A small number of 1-star reviews report significant dissatisfaction, including alleged misuse of funds and poor aftercare, though these appear to be from a minority of experiences.

Updated experience review

Put our details into a database due to interest in HGV training We received a call from a salesman named Alfie who mis-sold to us on the phone and did not explain the terms correctly also preying on the fact it was morning and the person taking the call was not fully awake Took our money before showing us any sort of terms of service but refuse to refund our money We requested the phone call recording which turned up days later due to their inability to send a recording via email and tried to claim ignorance until we told them that s not an excuse in a court of law The phone call proved that up until 10-15 minutes AFTER the payment we had no access to any terms We ve taken this to trading standards and we don t intend to stop pursuing this until our money is returned Be careful with this company they are friendly and supportive until you actually need something from them The reply from HGV Training Centre is just another insult they know exactly who we are and continue to play dumb This may have been due to someone out of the loop reading our review it wouldn t surprise me if customer services and the sales person kept this issue hidden from anyone with the ability to help us Another update 29th August At the request of HGV Training Centre we provided the name of the customer to them via Trustpilot no further communication from them has been received and our money has still not been returned We are still pursuing this This was my own impatience after wanting a resolution to this they did respond to the review at the first opportunity Final update 30th August At last we were put in touch with someone who was actually able to help us rather than seemingly brush us away under the carpet If we had been treated like this initially we could ve returned to this company in future but because we were treated like we were in the wrong when we knew we weren t it s given us a bad feeling surrounding the company now I ve updated the review to 3 stars as I feel the extra 2 stars were lost now that we ve spent 13 days chasing a refund and struggling to contact anyone able to see the problem and look into our claims Hopefully the sales process improves after this people should have the opportunity to read the terms of service and agree to them before sending a payment Although the customer should be more aware of this some are not which is why the company should make terms clear before taking payments I consider this issue resolved at this point so thank you to the person who contacted us after this review

Good customer service

Happy with the service provided by the HGV Training Centre team I felt that my success is very important to them and they worked hard to get me through my training As for the recruitment services offered not much to expect apart from CV review No recruitment agency has contacted me despite promises made by HGV Training Centre

Overpriced but effective

I thought the initial theory training was very good and found the all staff i spoke to at the hgv training centre and at MTS where I did my practical course very friendly and helpful but I do feel like that the training itself wasn t very professional and the days wasn t planned out very well I changed instructors daily and they didn t have any idea what I had done or the routes I had took the previous day also the vehicles used wasn t in as good condition as I expected I didn t do things like a practice test route and wasn t told about the questions at the start of the test until 30 mins before I have now received the help with a cv and finding a job but it wasn t as helpful as it originally sounded when sold to me I have basically written my own cv apart from somebody making some very minor alterations and the help in finding a job is a couple of job advertisement that can be easily found on websites and an agency contact details which I could of done myself They also offered me a pass protection at 500 but when I spoke to the instructors before my test they said it would be 360 for a retest so was happy I didn t pay for it I did pass my test first time but thought a lot of that was down to my own confidence and feel like the training and help in finding a job could have been a lot better I would advise to shop around at local training providers before committing

Expensive

Good training but wish I had more practice came in on my first day of ever driving a lorry and hand a reverse test the next day had to share my training with someone else and because I failed my reverse test I had to rebook everything all separately which costed more money

Only negative thing I can say is I felt

Only negative thing I can say is I felt planning could be better for the courses you d get options for a group of courses to book which would typical be two weeks together if you couldn t do any of those you d have to wait weeks before more dates were available then same story if any of those wasn t good and so on Fine if you re not in current employment so you could take them whenever but I had use my rest days to fit them in so was a bit of a nightmare

Communication wasn t the best

Communication wasn t the best unfortunately I asked to pay for the course tin 2 times and they said yes which helped a lot but as soon as I made the first payment the phone calls didn t stop until the second payment was made Look better in terms of prices because unfortunately I could have saved 500 pounds but it s not everything When I thought I had already paid for everything I received a call saying that there was one more payment left and that if I didn t pay the bookings that had already been made would be cancelled I had already had confirmation that everything had already been paid for and then this happened I completed the C with them but I will not do my CE with this company They were all respectful to me but you don t play with people s financial lives they take you to the point where you no longer know what you are paying for This is my honest review and im doing this because I remember how fustrated I was when I found out I could ve looked for better options

HGV training centre have been good

HGV training centre have been good easy to deal with and booked all my training without any issues My only issue was that I wasn t made aware of the CPC mod 2 and mod 4 When booking I thought all training to be up and running was included with the cost of the course but sadly not To find out it s another 399 has delayed me slightly but however I have been able to book both for a little less
