Carried out a removal for a terminally ill relative The removal men made disparaging comments at the time saying the stuff was all rubbish we didnt take notice at the time We naively had labelled all the boxes with their contents Upon unpacking turns out that the removal men lost many of the valuable items in transit some of them precious family possessions which then made sense as regards to their comments nice little bonus presumably for them The new property had CCTV and because of the relative was so ill they never left their new property So it is clear where they went missing 1 workmen was at the property 3 times when they were accompanied by another relative at all times Contacted the company to investigate - incredibly rude response back Reported to the police and trading standards Incredibly upsetting experience all round Would definitely not recommend to use - so angry I never leave reviews of any company but if there is one positive from this experience take the bad experience we had and avoid using this removal company Then rang me up desperate to take my reviews done - sorry damage is done Read around - this company has form

Horrible tradespeople Don t use them

My decision to book them last year was prompted by a very persuasive salesperson who assured me my goods would be 100 safe with them I was going into an airB B until my new home was ready and not knowing what the security there would be like I packed my jewellery in the boxes on the basis that they would be 100 safe On the day of the removal one of their staff packed my laptop and Ipad without my consent and when I asked the crew nobody came forward As a result we had to look for them in boxes stacked in the removal van but without success I was reassured by a couple of the men the items would be recovered in the depot and brought back to me in the evening which is what happened What I did not clock at the time though was that boxes were now open and went into the storage containers like that Seven weeks later having had the goods delivered to my new home a couple of rings rolled out of a random box which alerted me that something was not right The long and the short of it is that jewellery worth 37 000 had disappeared These included items of not only high financial but immeasurable emotional value I had paid for up to 100 000 insurance but they refused to pay out because the T Cs excluded jewellery Would it not be good practice to alert to the T Cs in the sales pitch For who reads them under the stress of moving home The T Cs were sent in a pdf in the quotation email hidden at the back of 74 pages of letters and accreditations More to the point they have not taken responsibility for the fact that contents in open boxes opened by them became available to who knows who They call themselves a family business but I have in all these months not had anyone from the family get in touch after such a major incident They told me it was the first time such a loss happened but from other reviews it is clear that this is not true This makes me wonder In addition to that major loss a stone head of an ancient Egyptian god also went missing as did boxes containing other lesser items such a handheld vacuum cleaner a wok etc Plus many items were returned broken Like other reviewers I suggest people be wary about this company PS - I got their name from Which Trusted Traders but they seem to have lost that accreditation they are no longer available there

Carried out a removal for a very ill relative in 2019 leaving this review now as relative has been critically ill since The removal men made disparaging comments at the time saying the stuff was all rubbish we didnt take notice at the time We naively had labelled all the boxes with their contents Upon unpacking at the property which was fitted with CCTV and no workmen attended as the relative was housebound shortly after moving in turns out that the removal men had taken many of the valuable items some of them precious family possessions from our late father which then made sense as regards to their comments and kept many of the boxes in their van probably to sell on given they were valuable Curiously the van went to lunch before arrival at the new property Contacted the company to investigate - incredibly rude response back Reported to the police and trading standards Incredibly upsetting experience all round Would definitely not recommend to use Company then rang me up to pay me to take my review down once posted - no thank you money cant buy you lost possessions family memories or the hurt and upset caused

Writing this review as a warning to potential customers - do NOT use this company We are devastated as several items are missing from our collection which was in storage with J A Steel who charged 350 a month with insurance on top at 70 to find that we have breakages and missing presumably stolen items The missing items are the most upsetting - wedding gifts my parents had kept from years ago and precious books which we can t get back J A Steel are also refusing to fulfil the insurance guarantee because we packed the items ourselves - total rubbish Apparently other customers have had a similar experience We will be taking this to Trading Standards - this is not a reputable company and you should not use them

Very unprofessional talking to neighbours about my move no floor protection nothing was protected with wrapping or blankets as promised no care was taken when handling my objects they was supposed to plumb the washing machine in but had no tools when this job had finished I got asked to give them a positive review they even wrote there namesI reported damaged property to the office when I told the office about the leaving there names for a positive review all the office did was laugh not even an apology did not fill I was treated very professionally got told to accept 200 or Open an insurance case I have opened an insurance case because of damaged item s Not a good experienceWould never use againWould never recommend not even to my worst enemySo I leave this review so people know what to expect

This company have stolen lost my belongings and refuse to look into it any more As they know my entire flat had flooded and mother passed away my mothers belongings were in the boxes that they have lost stolen I have been offered only 150 compensation when the amount of the items amounts to way way more than this both financially and sentimentally The driver also decided to start drinking beers in my home and did not take an inventory before leaving He asked my sister for her mobile number so that he could send a form but instead used the number to suggest they could go for a drink - she is 18 years old he looks 30

The van driver completely unnecessarily damaged a tree outside our house when parking What was happening was obvious but he clearly didn t care He then refused to discuss it with me When he left he pulled out stopped his van and removed the evidence of broken branches that fell on to the road I have read the reply below which is disingenuous The driver was aware that he was causing damage but clearly was unconcerned He then refused to talk to me He could easily have parked a few feet further out and avoided the damage The tree is now in an unsafe condition with a large branch hanging down that is likely to fall at any time so it is very unlikely that he cleared the branches already broken off for safety reasons At least please be honest
