Johnson s multi purpose undercoat saved
Johnson s multi purpose undercoat saved me hours Stripped wall paper off ceiling and was left with yellow stains and very rough surface Painted it 3 times thickly with Dulux brilliant white and it looked like I hadn t even touched it stains kept coming through instantly I was thinking about buying expensive filler paints etc but non in the shop at the time so I bought some pva glue mixed it with water 1-1 ratio painted that on waited an hour then applied the undercoat Smelt potent when I took the lid off which I found reassuring and was super thick Just one coat evened out all the dodgy surface and covered it perfectly Used the rest of the paint on the room and it was a pleasure to paint on covered everything even tho it was white made bad walls look perfect

Wish I d read these reviews before I brought it
Wish I d read these reviews before buying the paint Saw the colour on the chart I really wanted was a reasonable price but upon putting it on the wall having to put at least 3 coats on due to it being so patchy plus when putting the mirror up the slightest touch it leaves terrible marks on the paintwork Will not buy again I have a photo but doesn t let me upload it

Do not buy Johnstones paint
I made the mistake of buying johnstones paint trading since 1890 They used to do decent paint but I now know they are under different ownership It was terrible watery didn t cover and probably wouldn t pass trade descriptions act for the purpose we buy paint Bought it in good faith from B M I think they ought to think through stocking something of such poor quality I don t have much spare cash but had to buy more paint of a different brand that actually covered the walls Shockingly bad paint do not buy

Bought their undercoat
Bought their undercoat which went on beautifully but the toxic smell is overpowering Thank god we exchanged the gloss for Dulux or we would ve ended up in hospital Ten days after we undercoated we are still coughing getting headaches and experiencing chest pains Even though we applied Dulux gloss that has no smell over the Johnstones undercoat the smell is still overpowering NEVER AGAIN I ll contact the company to alert them to the potentially dangerous fumes UPDATE have tried contacting company and the message keeps getting rejected Says everything

Johnstones stain away white matt Paint
I was hoping this would cover some stains and I could use as a base before adding a further coat in a slightly different colour It neither covered the marks went on the wall really patchy wall had been washed with sugar soap and when I tried to add the next coat colour it went on really uneven I am so disappointed This stainaway paint was not cheap and was absolutely useless I do not recommend

I bought the trade Matt emulsion in B M
I bought the trade Matt emulsion in brilliant white which states it is suitable for newly plastered walls Although my walls are not newly plastered I had two walls that had been stripped of paper and two painted in duck egg blue My initial impression on opening the tin was doesn t look brilliant white but unfortunately I trusted Johnstones more than my eyes The paint is like water coverage very poor and the finish apart from being patchy is off white cream As a female pensioner I have neither the energy or inclination to apply a 2nd 3rd and possibly 4th coat according to some reviews of this rubbish This was always my go to paint retailer so therefore I didn t look at the reviews my mistake DO NOT BUY
