Forget about Eplehuset

Normally I don t write reviews but this one is more than deserved My Macbook had a battery issue for some time and had to be replaced but never had a time to take it to a service Now that it was pre-holidays and I had some days off I found the possibility to call for a service First from my Apple profile and based on my Apple Care I checked which services are available around Oslo and I ve got Eplehuset and Mentech As a Mac user for years and with previous more or less good experience with Eplehuset in Oslo I ve decided to call them because what Mentech is never heard about them before Strange name weird website though I So calling Eplehuset no one answered Tried to access my account there impossible Contacted their support via chat and after more than an hour lost I work with software and their site is a total disaster I was able to create a support case where I described everything and asked them to contact me for more information and how to proceed Day passed two 3 nothing happened no one is writing back nor calling I ve decided to call them A person from their support team answered and directly commented that I had to just leave the Mac in their service and it will be ready after 25 days as this is their regular waiting time After I heard that I thanked and ended the call 25 days do they employ a couple of technicians and repair a few items each day or what So I decided to call Mentech better than nothing A super nice person answered the phone and I explained the problem that I have a machine which needs its battery replaced but also I need the computer for work He explained that I can bring it for a fast check and they will order the parts and once the parts are ready I can bring back the computer and they will fix it within a day I went to their closest service shop got the computer inspected and parts ordered All that within 15 minutes Few days later I got an email and a call to bring the Mac so they can replace the battery I delivered it in the morning the next day and after a few hours it was ready and by specifications or whatever procedure Apple requires apart from the battery the computer got a new keyboard touchpad and trackpad Everything got resolved in such an agile way I couldn t imagine And during all the time the people from the service were informing about the state of the repair Most importantly I was able to keep and work on the Mac while waiting for the parts to arrive For what reason Eplehuset wants to keep my computer for so many days absolutely no sense Perhaps because they offer a backup computer for a few thousand NOK Ridiculous and completely unnecessary In case you need a Macbook repair HIGHLY RECOMMENDING Mentech If they work with other hardware the same way even better Forget about Eplehuset it s just a useless and expensive place

By far the best tech customer service and Apple repair outlet including Apple s own dedicated stores I ve used in London until moving to Oslo Usama was the technician on my specific case though all employees were warm and welcoming and ensured that my issue mac keyboard repair was dealt with great professionalism and a perfect swift end result Wholeheartedly would recommend to anyone in need of technical repair or support in the Oslo area
