TWO of MetaMask s mistakes lost me 5k

TWO of MetaMask s mistakes lost me my wallet I know crypto is a risk and I risked my own money but I didn t think it would just disappear into thin air due to TWO errors on MetaMask s behalf So the first issue I had was my wallet being frozen and getting an error when I tried to do anything I m still logged in it asks for my password says welcome back but nothing works I spoke to the support team they told me the only way to fix this error was to delete and reinstall the app The only problem was I didn t write down my secret recovery phrase No problem right I m still logged in so I can just go into the settings and reveal it right WRONG Error number two can t unlock your account try again Balls I ll try the seed phrase Same again And I know I put the password in right because a I used the same password to log into the accountb I put the password in wrong on purpose and it said incorrect password c It gives me a tick asks me to hold a button to reveal the phrase and then has the errorYes I know its partly my fault for not writing down the SRP as soon as I downloaded the app but like many people just starting I didn t think I d be throwing so much money into an unreliable app I have now spoke to several members of the support team one was helpful ish and the others assumed I was the problem saying things like you put the password in wrong you need to reinstall the app its the wrong phrase whatever that means Eventually my issue got escalated to the technical team good news right wrong again the only way is to reinstall the app I then explain again that the SECOND issue meant I cant reinstall the app because I ll lose everything you need to reinstall the app I explain AGAIN that I m still logged in there must be something they can do you are told to back up your phrase when you download the app Clearly not even reading my email and now after explaining again and asking for updates I m being completely ignored As you can imagine seeing your hard work disappear is very disappointing And from reading other people s reviews they have had great interactions with the support team so maybe I just got unlucky with who I spoke to The person I am emailing is called Max Hernandez All I am hoping is that this review will get me in touch with someone actually willing to try and help me rather than spewing standard protocol information and copy and pasting This is what I do have - says my phrase is backed up- I am logged in still- It knows my passwords are correct and associated with my account- I can track my wallet and see it still existsCan anyone help me it would mean a lot Thanks for reading

I definitely do not recommend this wallet which does not have protection against phishing Customer service web page are non-sens mail or contact for report phishing scam into binplorer is non-existent The fees are extremely expensive Secure is not good Additionally it is important to communicate about an additional Metamask shortcoming Please note that WIF Wallet Import Format is not a private key This is the insecure Base58 checksum of a key which is stored unencrypted in your browser history Thousands of viruses or Trojans export these checksums to transfer web access to your wallet Never use WIF

Metamask is the actual scammer They stolen my money using some hacking bot and after seeing transaction account with money and address exist they told me they can t take any action against those frauds because its against their rules AVOID METAMASK

I have been included in a eth-defi999 com defi mining earning system through my Metamask wallet But the people on the other side turned out to be fraudsters The fraudsters even transferred the profits I earned and withdrawn to my Metamask wallet as well as my principal from my Metamask wallet to themselves without my permission and notice In order to get my money they deceived me again with various lies and stole it again under the name of deposit payment My 1900 USDT money was stolen by fraudsters because Metamask was not secure

I purchased ethereum and shiba through

I purchased ethereum and shiba through my Meta Mask wallet I did everything step by step used their recommended quotes paid the money can t find any trace of the transactions I bought both on the ethereum main net the purchase was made from mercuryo The shiba was purchased through Sardine Contacted the chat link 4 times They basically said nothing beyond the obvious Crypto could be very promising but its gotta stop walking and talking like a giant roulette gamble on scam vs legit

If there were 0 stars I would have picked that MetaMask is for software engineers to use if your not a software engineer with lots of crypto knowledge you will lose all your money or tokens never use this perhaps in the next 15 - 20 years MetaMask software engineers will understand product development product testing then release something that actually works for the general public

But this is still happening it s a shame when the law enforcement authorities finally think to do something about this Metamask they keep stealing and lying with the same answers they ve been writing for a couple of years People don t log into this wallet even if you it s about your life because your money effort and time will be wasted like many of us You can write to them pray to them or whatever some even committed suicide they won t listen to you because they don t care about you they just care to your hard earned money Truth and justice come when you least expect it I wouldn t want to be in their shoes when they come

ScammersI have an account with them and I can no longer log in to it as always with a password and it was active It takes a new account or 12 words to recover that I never entered So how am I supposed to get my money Date of experience November 01 2023EditReply from MetaMask3 days agoThe password you chose is to prevent unauthorized access to the app itself Your Secret Recovery Phrase is generated on the device and given to you during the initial wallet creation process It is how you restore access to your accounts There are various prompts urging you to back up this phrase as we do not store them Us storing them is a major security risk and entirely against the ethos of web3 Not your keys not your crypto Reach out to our support team it may be possible to recover them from your devices Why are you lying I have metamask on my mozilla list and when I signed up it didn t show me any phrases it just alerted me and when I wanted those words the fields were blank So how to login to your account and get money Of course suddenly metamask doesn t work in mozilla so I had to cancel it and put it back in mozilla and it no longer works as it should
