Appalling company

Appalling company I joined what was clearly advertised as a year s subscription for the special offer of 1 a month yet The Times unilaterally increased my monthly subscription to 15 a month without my being able to cancel til the full year is up Moreover after I complained about this they sent me two e-mails telling me the e-mail they d sent me warning me of the increase in cost was sent in error and that my subscription would continue to be 1 a month It has now jumped to 15 a month and they have refused to reduce it to the amount I signed up for Immoral

Misleading bordering on fraudulent

I signed up for 3 months at 1 I had absolutely no idea I would automatically be signed up for a year with no way to cancel I have contacted the Times side note - it s very hard to contact them and requested an immediate cancellation I will update here if it gets rectified but I have low hopes I can t believe it s literally 300 in the bin due to misleading advertising It s very upsetting and disappointing from a business I thought I respected Apparently not

Old and ex-well respected Newspaper now a scammer

A once well respected and oldest Newspaper THE TIMES has now joined the list of disreputational scammers such as the Cyprus company who offers 1 day free trial and dives in and takes your money Fortunately the Banks have caught on to him but not the former One months free trial never used by me but expecting to be advised as to the end and to any charges that might ensue but no It seems I was expected to undertake the only way of cancelling was to ring them on Sunday New Years Eve or Monday New Years Day a Bank Holiday were they open However they immediately dived in and took 26 00 for a service I had never used and when contacting them they tried to offer very low subscriptions such as 3 00 month for three months I asked what would happen to that payment I had already made Oh you can read our paper until 02 02 2024 but we cannot refund any monies

0800 numbers are not itemized on your phone bill

I signed up for a digital subscription in October Decided to cancel within the first 2 weeks of a three month trial period I could only cancel by using the 0800 number supplied on 30 10 23 I was billed for the full subscription amount of of 26 on 16 1 24 I cannot prove I called them as my call wasn t recorded on my telephone bill 0800 numbers aren t itemized on telephone bills by European Law So the only route I have to cancel cannot be verified by me or any outside company A second call to The Times after my first review on Trust Pilot did result in my subscription being cancelled and a confirmation e mail being sent to my email address I shall be asking my bank to recover the payment in January

Useless company subscription scam and poor customer service

Signed up for the one month free trial Confirmation email states nothing whatsoever about only being eligible for a refund if you cancel the free trial with the first 14 days by calling On the date I got charged I called for a refund as I had thought I d already cancelled the free trial online They were rude unempathtic and unhelpful refusing to issue a refund on this occasion vaguely referencing their terms and conditions Made a complaint stating their confirmation email didn t even mention I had to call within the first 14 days of the one month free trial to receive a refund but this made no difference Any other normal company would issue a refund and not be sneaky about their free trial cancellation terms I feel scammed

SNEAKY CHARGES after Cancellation

I got persistent messages for a Trial period for Times online newspaper so I finally decided to sign up for 1 offer for 4 months However after reading some articles I decided it wasn t for me and phoned to cancel my trial subscription one month before the end of offer Imagine the shock I got when 25 99 was taken from my bank account exactly 4 months after the trial start date Now I will have to chase for a refund but if I had not checked my bank statement Times would have started taking 25 99 a month even though I have an email to confirm my CANCELLATION BEWARE of TIMES newspapers TRIAL OFFERS

Cancelled sub still charged

Did the three month trial cancelled and still got charged 25 99 for the first month Customer services kept fobbing me off and referring me to Apple even though my bank account clearly showed it was The Times who had requested payment through PayPal Avoid
