Just back from a week skiing and whilst

Just back from a week skiing and whilst the hotel and resort were fantastic the support from the Neilson rep was almost non existent In previous years there have been 3-4 reps in resort but this year only one so the poor guy was all over the place After years of using Neilson we ll look elsewhere next season

Messini - very good but some material snags

Spent a week at Neilson Messini and overall we wife myself and 2 kids aged 4 and 8 had a great time and are seriously considering a repeat in 2025 maybe even for 10 days Kids clubs are great staff throughout resort are very professional and a real credit to Neilson food is good and varied and pools are spacious and clean Plenty of activities to get involved in 3 things we didn t like 1 on 2 non-consecutive nights we had faulty air-conditioning which resulted in bad nights sleep for the family 2 Tennis courts are not in good condition even though the website says they were recently resurfaced They are fine for players just wanting a friendly hit but if you are really into your tennis you may be frustrated with the holes in the nets couldn t always tell if a ball went through net or clipped top of net and dropped over and the quality of the surface 3 Good gym facilities but either air-con not working or not effective as it was too hot to work out was 35c outside and not much cooler inside

Too much loud music

Very good accommodation but the overpowering smell of sewage at the front of the hotel was disgusting Constant loud or very loud music in most areas of the resort particularly main dining area Food generally good coffee at breakfast time appallingly bad Staff of hotel very helpful Bike team particularly good However there was very little atmosphere in the resort not helped by the marked lack of mixing between British and Swedish guests Overall good but could be a lot better

Room for improvement

Room for improvement Great staff who in general really care about guests and go the extra mile for guests Hotel manager and chef absolutely fantastic Some restaurant staff less attentive than others Ski host a bit selective in terms of ensuring all guests have equal access to ski guiding and over focused to able expert skiers

The good the bad and the ugly

We had 2 weeks at Levante Beach resort unfortunately this was our worst Neilson holiday We have been on 6 Neilson holidays in the past few years alone Firstly the good The rooms are spacious and comfortable the food on the whole was excellent as were the dining room staff and reception staff Sailing kit was great The bad we had technical issues with the bikes on over half of our rides chains coming off or worse jamming the wheel Our room was not cleaned very well and missed completely on one day Beware hiring a car from the hotel we had a very dubious experience Check the insurance tyres and price elsewhere Neilson condone this by allowing them in on the welcome meeting You cannot escape the noise If you manage to get a space on a beach bed which was difficult you are assaulted by noise from several directions The spin classes music from the beach team various noisy watercrafts and sometimes the pink mat too The ugly If you turn left on the beach past the beach team there are derelict buildings caravans and an area strewn with plastic waste It really isn t pleasant Finally we had a garden room which is at a premium no problem there we were offered a room choice as a returning customer Great until they wanted 140 for this service when I complained they said this what customers wanted

Good and bad

We booked a one week trip to Messini Beachclub in September 24 The negatives first I booked an upgraded garden room with sea view at additional cost asking for a quiet room as I was going with my 9 year old son I later discovered that it was possible to choose the room I hadn t been made aware previously but by this time there was only 1 option left This room turned out to the the closest one to the Pool Bar which turned out to be the centre of the social activity which was frequently very loud until midnight or later due to the organised activities using a PA system and or drunk guests After two nights with less sleep than we would have liked we asked to be moved to a different room I was told that this was not possible as all rooms were full and there was nothing else they could do As a result we were both tired throughout our holiday On the positive side the activities were great most of the staff were very friendly with the exception of a couple and the kit was mostly in good order except the bikes which we only used once as they had rusty chains a leaky dropper post and both needed indexing Hope that s helpful

Buca is no longer worth the premium

Bucca is no longer worth the premium price Neilson have stupidly changed the evening inclusive dining from an excellent a la carte to a very average buffet to save money Chicken nuggets pasta and sauces and poor quality fish are not what I expect from the premium Neilson club Desserts were an endless variety of fluff on sponge served in plastic pots In previous years Bucca had its own excellent chefs producing fantastic 3 course dinners which were a joy to look forward to No more And can a club with 15 16 and 17 year olds really be called Adults only anymore The Seafood bbq was over priced and over cooked There is no point in barbecuing fish and prawns if you don t serve them straight off the bbq If you leave them in warming hoods they overcook Come on Neilson you can do better than this and you are letting down the fantastic Greek staff who are wonderful

Not so much a club as in previous times

Firstly the Neilson Beach Bike Tennis teams were as excellent as ever However it seemed that at least 50 of the guests were Scandinavian -which is unsurprising as Playitas which runs Levante is part of the same travel group as Apollo holidays which brings in the Nordic customers- and which makes for a dubious club ambience - really more of a large international sports leisure facility There is no doubting the luxury and bewildering choice at mealtimes but this year the place seemed crowded and the dining experience far too noisy for comfort We will choose a different resort and possibly a competing operator for further such holidays

Not Neilson enough

We have just returned from Levente This was our 6th Neilson experience and like others have commented the shared resort does not create the same friendly vibe we have experienced in other resorts Limited opportunities to meet mingle with other guests The hotel bar is too small for volume of guests when the evening entertainment was on The hotel was fully booked and dinner was very busy and noisy with queues for tables The food was excellent great choice and variety The rooms are pleasant and the resort benefits from all the usual facilities Some activities that are shared with Apollo guests need to be booked at reception with people queuing from 7 15am to book on a daily basis My husband was happy with the sailing kit The bikes rides were great you need to go inland to avoid the run down feel of the immediate local area The bikes are a bit tired 2022 and some are needing replaced I experienced skipping gears and buckled wheels My fiends front wheel almost fell of her bike as it came lose during a cycle luckily she spotted it The yoga classes are the best I ve experienced at a Neilson resort mostly run by Apollo rather than Neilson staff The fitness deck was however far too small for the volume of people trying to join the classes Our biggest gripe was with the kids clubs far short of our previous experiences Not making the most of all the fabulous facilities available and a bit lacklustre at times All 3 of our children attended less than 50 of the time commenting that they weren t as good as at previous resorts We still had a lovely holiday but it wasn t up to the usual Neilson experience
