The majority of reviews for NYIP are highly positive, with students praising the comprehensive course content, knowledgeable instructors, and the value for money. Learners frequently report significant improvements in their photography skills and appreciate the flexibility of online, self-paced learning. Conversely, negative feedback consistently focuses on the high cost of the courses and disappointment with outdated materials or inadequate support. Great lessons but lousy communications

You rarely get to actually speak to anyone at NYIP From day 1 I was told I have a counselor or someone assigned to me but I have no idea who that mystery person is I did once speak with someone named Charles who I learned was actually an administrator he was going to get to the bottom of the problem but I never heard back Beyond lesson 1 I could never get my photos posted Charles said it was a problem on my end Otherwise the program is great

The Course Photojournalism interesting but has limitations

The Course Photojournalism was interesting but has some limitations Some lessons need to go more in depth whereas some informations I have found uninteresting if not almost useless Also the request for the tests weren t always very clear I did some research on Field hockey completely new to me as asked by the school but some shots specifically about the rules around the subject weren t understood by the tutor

This program is overpriced and outdated I am disappointed I spent this kind of money on this program Also you lose access to the materials after a certain amount of time which I find problematic at such a high price

Good not great

Taking a photography course online is a great way to build a solid foundation of knowledge and the assignments are well thought out The reviews depend on the reviewer and sometimes they don t look at the parameters that they were meant to review on which is a bit frustrating Also the ability to go into the field and experience a shoot with professionals is missing when you do online training and that is more valuable than anything that NYIP can provide If there were some time available for students to go in and work with let s say flash and experience it with a mentor it would make the course more valuable and better their students prospects after graduation I feel that this course makes you book smart but not necessarily street smart

I like the course overall

New York Institute of Photography courseI like the course overall It has given me some good tips on how to improve myself as a professional Photographer I like the Tutor I had There has been one time when I was in disagreement with the content in the material I pointed it out but I was told No the data is correct I went to a photoshop that I have a good connection with and they stated No this is not correct It was a disappointment that my viewpoint was not taken into consideration I have also asked for help as English is a foreign language for me but I was referred to Google which normally makes texts even more confusing My course time ended and after a while I paid another course fee I was promised a new NYIP ID card but I did not get any yet I do not find where I ended off Maybe with some more computer programming it would be easier to see what I did and where I should continue Right now I am lost and don t know where to restart
