An app which you can ask a question in ordinary language It will nearly always understand what you re after and will give you a well reasoned and coherent answer Plus it gives the sources for all the information so you can decide for yourself how relevant or authoritative the answer is Ok it doesn t always get it right For a start there s a lot of false information on the web which is where it gets its information from Also it can t an always put 2 and 2 together I ve only used the free version But it works so much better than the chat agents on many websites or company phone lines which can t make sense of most questions It uses a better variety of sources than ChatGPT is more up to date and doesn t make things up A genuine step forward

I only have the free version and as far as my limited understanding of AI goes perplexity is wonderful I have found all my searches to be quick and useful I appreciate the reference links so I can find the information myself to confirm the resource It s fantastic to ask for a phone number and find a phone number in seconds I love the fact that I m not being tracked by advertisement algorithms and that my previous searches are easily located even though I m not paying a premium I loved listening to the developer of Perplexity on the podcast Freakonomics And that s how I discovered this wonderful tool And I thank him

I m using the free version of Perplexity AI now for about 6 months It has basically replaced my Google search Here s why - Answers are to the point logically explained and you don t need a degree to understand it - No need to dive into websites watch hours of video s and getting around ads- The content comes from websites forums and even video s- The references sources are always displayed in case you have doubts- The app uses a lot less personal data compared to Google so that s also an upgrade if you care about your privacy according to the iOS App Store - You get a full history of all your queries and answers- The absence of ads although I expect this to change in the future But I would gladly pay a small premium to keep it that way as this app has helped me so many times Because it s accurate and fast compared to any other search engine
