Horrible Experience
Great sales team horrible company Yeah we got tricked which was my fault They said all the right stuff during the sales call and I wanted to believe them so bad that I talked myself into it BIG mistake I could write a dissertation on our experience but I ll just give the meat and potatoes They are not equipped to provide bookkeeping services to anybody Everything was a struggle from the day we started onboarding 6 months later and we finally had to cut them off Worse off than we were before and spent a lot of money with them in the process Even with the discounts they gave us for admittedly being terrible About 2 months into it we had to have a conversation with the owner and he flat out told us that they fired a bunch of people for not doing anything and unfortunately we had to suffer because of it On of them was our client services manager So they offered us a 20 discount for 3 months I told them that paying for 80 of nothing was not acceptable and the owner said that they would come up with something more comparable Never heard a word from him after that We got tossed around to 3 different teams in 6 months The one thing they did do mostly right was enter bills Yes the same thing that Appfolio s AI does for you Whatever your current struggle or situation is do not hire this company you will be worse off Read their other reviews Any positive ones are either old or fake All of the employees that we came in contact with were polite which makes me feel bad that they work there But not bad enough to keep paying them for a subpar service Frauds

I have had a great experience working
I have had a great experience working with the Proper team They are very knowledgeable about AppFolio and the associated accounting system and they have kept our workflow organized and efficient They are responsive and have a great professional working environment that encourages learning contribution and growth Overall I highly recommend Proper to anyone considering working with them

If you are considering a change to Proper we would definitely recommend it We truly feel they have provided a great client experience and see them as an integral part of our team We re also impressed with their industry knowledge - one example was a nuance around utility deposits that our team lacked experience with and the Proper team immediately knew the appropriate accounting procedure saving us time and preventing potential errors We re also grateful for their assistance in implementing the Yardi Breeze Premier accounting software They carefully researched planned and walked us through the implementation process and we were able to meet our internal timelines as a result They are very responsive to our needs and willing to put in the time and effort to meet our timelines We appreciate their ongoing improvement of our month-end close and their partnership in continuing to create more efficiencies for our business

Proper team review
Working with the Proper team has been a joy I especially appreciate the personalized service the level of responsiveness and the way they deliver on assignments within a week - if not sooner We re still working on making improvements to some processes together but I know I can trust Proper to autonomously handle all of our books and records and I m confident that we re building a solid foundation on which I can grow my business If you re an organized business owner and appreciate virtual workflows I strongly recommend working with Proper but just don t take my team -

For anyone thinking about outsourcing accounting Proper is well worth the money They not only catch mistakes but they also free up hours of my time allowing me to focus on other important responsibilities such as meeting with current and future clients Their expertise in the property management software we use PropertyWare means that I can confidently send them assignments and use my own time to work on growing my business And on more than one occasion they have caught my mistakes and saved me hundreds of dollars that I may never have known were lost or missing Most assignments I send to them are completed on the same day and in our weekly video meetings we address issues that need additional clarification that may be difficult to convey over email They are professional knowledgeable responsive and friendly

Proper has been a great asset especially when it comes to handling more complex accounting issues that a standard industry accountant might struggle with We have a dedicated highly-responsive team that seems to be always working on our accounts I recommend giving them a call - they re likely less expensive and more knowledgeable than your current accounting setup

Proper streamlines bookkeeping and is more valuable than hiring a physical bookkeeper We now have a whole own team of bookkeepers accountants headed up by one main contact I m kept up to date with uber-efficient weekly calls and ramp-up processes that give me peace of mind as well as an opportunity to provide feedback It s also a highly cost-effective way of reconciling several properties with the same team that knows your business and transactions Proper s teamwork mentality and speed are also very impressive - booking invoices and posting for payments is done within 24 hours - sometimes less It s also extremely convenient that they know Appfolio This took out the training time I was used to with previous bookkeepers I highly recommend working with Proper
