"Difficulty Receiving EMail"

Disappointed as Shawbrook had been recommended to me Applied to open a Savings Account on 07 01 24 Heard nothing so contacted them on 12 01 24 to be told that I should have an email requesting more information The call handler checked my email address apologised and said he would send email again As of today 18 01 24 I still have not had an email 19 01 24 UPDATE - Thanks for your quick response I have checked emails and also my service provider s webmail but still have nothing It is obviously not getting through the system I appreciate this may not be your issue I will contact you by phone and provide another email address

"Generally good"

Shawbrook are good for interest rates and change the rates automatically if an increase occurs My only criticism is that withdrawals are very slow taking up to 2 days when competitors are usually within a few minutes

"Not up to the usual standard I have "

Not up to the usual standard I have come to expect from Shawbrook I wanted to set up a new joint savings account and having followed all the online instructions and made the required phone call I was told I could not set up the required joint account as the account had already been funded As far as I am aware I was not told not to fund the account until the joint account had been set up Problem eventually resolved after contacting Shawbrook

"The whe process was a bit slow"

The whe process was a bit slow found it difficult to use the open banking was told by one person it had worked only to be told the following day it hadn t and to send statements They could not understand my income so a number of emails back and forth my driving licence was sent to me by mistake instead of the underwriters This all added to the delay in the whe process

"A very time consuming process"

It took a lot of time and effort to complete the online application process The server was slow as were responses to questions and it was difficult to successfully upload required documents It did all get through in the end and confirmation of acceptance came the following day

"Humans good rest pretty mid"

Ich w rde diese Nachricht auf Deutsch schreiben aber die Mehrheit von Kunden stammen aus GB The customer service isn t fantastic it s not the fault of the staff kind of just the way it is with online support The actual humans in customer service is why the review is higher than I would give without they re nice friendly plus it s not an easy job to deal with complaints especially with finance issues It s a bit tough to get through to a person though I also feel that the services aren t hugely user friendly compared to other banks I sometimes find things a bit unclear They could also do with some kind of app to help access the statements updates easier No disrespect meant just an honest opinion

"I don t recommend them "

I was contacted by Shawbrook bank today They wanted me to show evidence that I had the funds to pay off half my loan early I told them I did as I have been saving up and am desperate to clear the balance They said they would return funds to me if I did not show evidence I am paying back my own loan I was not asked if I had evidence of funds by other banks Other banks just let me pay it off in an instant What does it matter where the funds come from I don t know where they get their brain cells from

"Application not completed after acceptance"

When I was contacted to finalise the loan on Monday 21st 16 40 I was told the offer was accepted and the money would be requested for payment on early Tuesday morning I had not received anything by this morning Wed 23rd After contacting Shawbrook again it was highlighted that the payment request confirmation hadn t been completed on Monday This has now been completed and hopefully I will receive the money quicker than the 3 days originally indicated The person I spoke to this morning 9 40 said he would push it through given the delay caused bt them

"Inconsistent policy "

Kept getting text messages irrespective of hours informing me of interest rate changes Stated on text that I don t have to do anything but when I got online to my account the interest rates remained stuck in old rates for a while After I messaged them they replied that I am supposed to contact to update my account This is inconsistent and contrary to the text info given to me Asked again why this is but didn t get a respond to it Plus their server often very slow and browsers stopped responding resulted in having to log in several times May have to consider changing bank despite good interest rate offered

"Good interest rates but not easy to manage"

Good interest rates drew me to Shawbrook but I wouldn t bank with them again This is because it s so difficult the website and processes are cumbersome and unwieldy Even a simple change - moving money at the end of a fixed term bond - was difficult To be honest I would have withdrawn my funds totally but the staff I spoke to were so helpful and obliging I was ringing them on an almost daily basis at one point that I decided I d continue for at least another year
