Four months of phone calls and e-mails back and forth

I have my travel insurance with CoverForYou This summer I went to Sardinia from July 4 to July 8 Unfortunately my phone fell on the rocks while I was on the beach so I immediately made a claim when I was back to the UK CoverForYou asked me contact Taurus as this is their partner to deal with phones and other electronics It took me 4 months of phone calls and e-mails back and forth to have my claim resolved Taurus are very inneficient and they even try to trick me by paying less than the price that cost me to fix the phone Good thing I always double check my refunds

So far not the best experience Phone repaired and returned within 5 working days BUT sent to a completely wrong name made collecting it from the post office depot impossible The repair of a broken screen also effected the speaker making phonecalls impossible Returned for further work so fingers crossed Will update once all complete

Beware that their gadget insurance policy is not new for old

I took out extra gadget insurance with Taurus through Sainsburys After being robbed of my iPhone 11 in Paris I collected the very exhaustive list of documents needed to make a claim After a few days I was informed my claim was approved and that a replacement device would sent to me However I had already been forced to buy a new phone as I use it for business and cannot be without a phone even for a few days I called Taurus and they told me it wasn t a problem and that they d get back to me with a cash settlement figure The phone cost me 729 but I was sent a link to a renewed refurbished - used - secondhand iPhone 11 available on Amazon for 369 95 I was offered 369 95 based on this After questioning this I was informed that the policy I bought is not new for old Minus my 100 excess I m left with 269 95 towards a phone that cost me 729 Not at all what I was expecting So in conclusion it was my fault for not reading the policy terms more fully but be very aware before taking out gadget insurance with Sainsbury s Taurus that if you lose your shiny new phone you will only be offered a second-hand replacement or left with a still sizeable bill to replace the phone yourself I definitely would not buy their gadget insurance again Edit in reply to Taurus I never denied accepting the offer you made I also acknowledged that the policy is not new for old Furthermore I accept I should have read the terms of the policy more closely Had I done so I would not have taken out the policy Edited in response to Taurus reply Of course I accepted the offer It was that or nothing Certainly won t be making the same mistake twice
