Legitimate but less than ideal

This school is a legitimate online university and if you are a self-regulated learner you can do well I received my bachelors at a different institution about 3 years ago and decided to get another bachelors in computer science at University of the People because of its low cost Before you enroll let me tell you that it is not like a normal University University of the People does not care about its students and their individual situations and if you need help you will be on your own Since they are tuition-free they don t have the resources to help The professors have no power to help you either I had an experience that demonstrated all of this I had done very well during a course in Ethics turning in all work and getting good grades as well I was set to pass the course with an A When we got to the final exam I made a mistake and took the practice final rather than the actual final the links for them are right next to each other It was an honest mistake and so I went to the professor and explained what happened She was very nice and wanted to help but said that she had no power to help the professor has no control over her own class s work So my advisor sent a request that I be able to complete the class through an Incomplete Grade but that too was denied I received a D rather than an A because of an honest mistake Yes it was my fault but this demonstrates what I said earlier You will be a number not a student They don t care about your situation Teachers cannot help you even if they want to Please understand this if you want to study here you are on your own PS UoPeople reached out after their team left the comment below and nothing happened Proving the truth to the review above

Seems impossible to contact real people

I started the online application and have made payment for the application fee through the card option The current status is processing payment but on the main page of the application form it was still listed us unpaid I wanted to know how long does it take for international payment to process so I contacted my so-called admission advisor emailed their payment support email even Whatsapp and lastly Instagram Up until now I haven t gotten any replies whatsoever the Whatsapp is a bot and no news from Instagram so far though I m hoping Their help center page consists of FAQS with answers that are mostly short and doesn t provide thorough explanations It seems like there is no way to contact real people there I m very disappointed by the lack of response on their part as it s supposed to be more accessible as an online college I wish I had known this before I went through the fee payment for it is non refundable

Unequal Education

It s a shame that some students can afford to pay Chegg just so they can get the diplomas they need and most of the students obviously can t and won t dare to do so for the sake of honesty and the Management is not even doing something about it The so-called integrity is useless when all questions activities and answers are verbatim available with just a single click My experience when I started was great until I ve done the foundation courses where I got to see the reality
D

Not what I hoped

I am nearing completion of my Masters of Education I was able to ignore the rampant plagiarism unqualified students and lack of meaningful feedback because I believed in the mission so much However it has gotten a little ridiculous I think they have a good idea but without accountability and proper implementation it does not work It has pushed me to write and read more every week though

There are certain black instructors

There are certain black instructors that favor black students An example my group was supposed to consist of 5 persons All except another person and I from my group dropped out which I didn t know until 2 days prior to a 12 page assignment being due The other person ended up handing in his work to me a couple days prior copy pasted from the internet The instructor rated the other group member much higher and gave me just over a passing grade I had advised the instructor about it prior and had single-handedly completed over 3 4 of the assignment in 48 hours I contacted the Dean also black He did nothing to help with the numerous issues going on with the school including this one
