I must say that UoPeople is a God sent

I must say that UoPeople is a God sent they are 100 real and they do offer free tuition therefore making education possible for individuals that lack the financial resources I m so excited to be apart of this revolutionary online community i m sure that they have set a new standard for not just offering quality education but the accessibility to reach thousands and millions

Self thought self grading Appalling

It is completely self-thought and gives your grades into the hands of your colleagues Some of the tutors are horrible They don t give out good materials but yet grade poorly None of the tutors actually recorded anything for your to watch You are just issued lots of readings and assignments They virtually don t do anything

Scientific topics require accuracy

The initiative is commendable offering everyone the opportunity for advanced education The organization is great as is the ease of use of the provided tools Also the instructors are very nice and helpful In fact my journey was positive until I enrolled in a course CS 1102 focused on Java where I had enough competence to judge the course material As a senior technical lead with over three decades in the field 23 of those years being in Java and having been certified by Sun 21 years ago I m pursuing this degree for personal fulfillment However I found several inaccuracies in the course mislabeled terms missing right answers unclear questions and incorrect answers marked as correct Also when the instructor pointed out my observations the course team said that everything was ok as it is making me wonder if they had a clue about computer science as a whole It concerns me that if I delve into areas outside my expertise I might end up learning and internalizing incorrect information It s with regret that I give UoPeople a 1-star review but it s crucial for learners to receive accurate knowledge which is not always happening After I pointed out the problem my grades were adjusted which is fine so I raise the rating by 1 star because taking actions after a problem is raised is important But this does not address the main issue which is accuracy of the tests As soon as something is done for that matter I will raise the rating

Uopeople arabic

Look i really love UopeopleBut i have something real to say here Please read it I am not racist but I call for attention to be given to the Arabic department of the university They don t even know how to speak Arabic fluently They hire people from Egypt and elsewhere and most of them are biased and don t understand anything about education except for being extremely racist If the Arabic department is Arabic then people from the Arab Peninsula should be hired I have been subjected to racism repeatedly by teachers and academic advisors because I am Arab and hold Israeli citizenship It s not just me many students face racism I believe that the university is hiring people who support terrorist organizations like Hamas and others These are not refugees they are terrorists and don t even deserve to live The Arabic department needs to be looked into I believe this is not the first complaint you receive and it is being ignored

The concept is good but

I have been an honor roll student of UoPeople for a couple years studying Business Administration It hasn t always been easy with the shaky peer assessments system but with reasonable professors there to correct any wrongs it was fine until I got into this e-commerce course Every week I get a couple high assessments and 1 very low assessment by a student who makes up their own grading criteria and leaves antagonistic comments things like you shouldn t use any colloquialisms in your writing Despite my bringing this problem to the professor s attention he writes that he s more concerned about students not giving enough feedback along with any correct assessments So for this I lost even more points This is also the first term where I have been the subject of double jeopardy deductions For not using an outside source of information I lost points in a writing assignment That same week I lost points in the learning journal for not naming any outside sources that were used in my writing assignment I am totally demotivated and have stopped turning in writing assignments and learning journals only to be insulted by hostile peer assessments or further deductions by a professor whose only recourse is to let my learning opportunity and gpa deteriorate into a lose lose situation At this point in week 5 it is too late to withdraw from the class and I will have to settle for wasting a hundred bucks to be treated as so I just want this nightmare course to be over My message to you if considering UoPeople Let the buyer beware You may not get all that you pay for but you will pay for all that you get IN REPLY Thanks for your concern info uopeople but I am dealing directly with my instructor to see what missteps were taken on my part and to voice what I think was excessive or unfair I am nevertheless committed to finishing what I started with UoPeople and would truly hope new and prospective students weigh the pros with the cons I have had more positive experiences than otherwise thus far Let s see how this term plays out perhaps I will adjust my rating to 4 stars

Great concept but massive flaws

I was excited about joining UoE it seemed like the perfect higher education experience for those who really need it It is an excellent concept with the tuition being free I also think paying for the tests is reasonable However what you need to be wary of is the workload I wasn t expecting to have to complete 6 units in three months Which meant up to 30 hours of study on top of work and family commitments and no time for holidays I was expecting just 10 hours a week of study on Business Management only and not an additional 10 hours a week on educational strategies So I never really caught up with my studies I was always playing catch up and as a result my grades suffered and I had to drop out So be wary of the amount of time that you need to study I signed up believing it was only a part - time course but it turned out to be more full - time and I had to miss assignments Once again I reiterate than UoE is a very good concept but be wary of the amount of time you ll need to give up for studying I wasn t prepared to do so

I have a mitigated opinion on this university On the one hand it is great that they provide higher education at a relatively low cost for students around the world The flexibility in studying is also great for a multi-time-zone context like this one On the other hand we can feel the lowcostness throughout the studies Many courses are never updated so you have to think you are in 2017 when answering some questions such as what is the maximum internet speed for individuals nowadays There are also many typos graphic bugs etc that have existed for years and nobody seems to care Also the UoPeople is absolutely terrible at communicating I have found myself facing massive misunderstandings that have cost me several months of studies multiple times They just have no clue how to inform students about procedures The online documentation is very shallow and not very helpful So while I am 100 for the concept there are still many things that must be improved in order to make it a great university Hopefully in a few years these problems will be fixed

I am having difficulty submitting my application After completing the required field in the application form Number and street post office and clicking the submit button the web page has been loading indefinitely for hours I have already paid the application fee as I am eager to be enrolled in the UoPeople but the perpetual load screen has me concerned as to whether my application will be submitted Overall my experience has been great

The University of the People is one of the best university

I was happy with the University of the People until the end of the term for my Associate Degree I have been sending several emails with no response so I can get my certificate Update I did get a response after posting on several social media sites which I find unnecessary University of the People you learn a lot to work on your own and be self-reliant There s some improvement to be made on administration and the peer assessment system I want to give it more stars but will wait to see if there s an improvement on how they handle student queries
