Village Hotel Cardiff

The place is slightly far from Cardiff central for someone who doesn t drive like me but other than that I enjoyed my stay The room was fresh and clean the staff was friendly and the price was fair for the length of my stay I d definitely go back in the future

Update to Don t waste your money there are cheaper and better alternatives

Only one star because I can t put zero stars Absolutely appalling service Stayed at the Bracknell hotel if you can call it that A very uninviting and impersonal experience No-one to talk to at check-in For a two person room there s only access to the bed on one side even though the room description picture showed both side access and one inadequate single shop style clothes hanging rail Can t comment on the staff as there was rarely anyone to talk to Everything was done through the restaurant staff s hand written messages very antiquated Day 5 of our 11 day stay and after two interactions via the app physically talking to someone using the door handle come in sign emails our room still hadn t been cleaned We had to beg to get toilet rolls absolutely disgusting Of course there s no phone number to interact with anyone to complain UPDATESo after being able to talk with the manager all issues resolved with a good outcome Thank you Jonny very well handled

My goodness this is not what we expected Checkin was mechanical Fortunately a staff member helped us with the onscreen checkin however we found the Hi Guys greeting to be condescending and generic We were very disappointed with our room It s clean but tired A step back into 1990s Beige beige oh and a bit of red The room has been stripped back No soft furnishings No glasses tumblers for water or tooth brushes The white towels have a sad grey tinge We re here for 6 nights and now regret our choice Be aware you have to pay 5 per night for parking and use of the swimming pool facilities is another 5 per day This used to be inclusive in the room charge At least with Travelodge or Premier Inn you know what to expect I m amending my review to reflect the standard of service we received from staff at the Village Hull It more than made up for our initial disappointment in standard

Great hotels shockingly poor menu

I love the Village Hotels which is why I visit so often but I have to say the menu is awful The food generally is not presented well I had the massively overpriced sirloin steak which came with a few chips and 4 roasted cherry tomatoes Presentation was poor and I expected better for 26 The menu is so limited and what seemed appetising was sold out The first night the meal was included the second night we ate out The Village are missing a trick I m afraid I hope they read this and pull their socks up

One happy lady

I would just like to say how very helpful Lucy Samantha were last Monday when I went to the Village hotel in Farnborough I was stressed with a booking I d made for a Xmas Party night but they calmed me down sorted my problem out I went away happy They are a credit to the Hotel my friends I are all looking forward to our first get together there for two years due to the pandemic Thank you both

Friendly helpful staff

Nice friendly staff Helen and Lina were very pleasant and helpful room clean and comfortable Also Sarah and Klaudia were most kind and assisted me when i brought my elderly mother in for lunch the following day

Complaint resolution

After a previous complaint I am happy to change my review as the manager at the Cheadle hotel has fully dealt with the issue and given me a fully adequate resolution It did take a while to resolve but this was due to poor handover to the current manager who dealt with it timely once handed over correctly Trust has been renewed with their commitment to customers
