Don t recommend them

I enjoyed doing my course but didn t really have the support I was left alone to get on with it I felt there wasn t any support as it takes them a while to reply also had no messages from them to see how I was doing I was not aware of what support they can offer I learned how to use the learning assistant by watching YouTube video they have sent to watch I didn t find that helpful at all They need to make the learning assistant easier to use to navigate there are too many steps to reach the destination There were so many steps I needed to do to upload a documentations of that unit half a time it wouldn t upload Messaging service was very difficult to use at times it need to be easier and a simple way I have left messages and they have been in put in separated part so the assessor does not see them They should invest in to an online chat service for those who have disability to speak to their assessor rather than just email only There was no clear information of options we need to pick as I was not aware that I needed so many of A B to gain credits It says pick your options but not how many credits of certain ones This had led me doing unnecessary work that was not needed I submitted my work in and taken 3 months for them to confirm it was completed with the IQA with a few emails to see what is going on as if it a reminder I am waiting I wouldn t be recommending them to others

Very poor service

Very poor service As many others share similar experience Very good at taking payments and their collection team is very aggressive even when they are not providing the service you would expect We were put on a new version of the course the tutor was trying to be helpful but the material and advise simply didn t align with the course questions City and guild published their material for the new course 8 months after we were enrolled onto it They simply want to sell and don t care about their offering Sure many have a good experience and many also sort it out themselves but if you actually want help don t expect it from the management or admin team they are unprofessional rude and ignorant

Learn at your own pace but don t get too happy about it

When I joined SVT I was told I could finish the course in 4 to 6 months Flexible modern efficient It all sounded lovely Spoiler the only real flexibility here is how far your patience can stretch Marking deadlines changed more often than British weather First it was 14 working days Then 21 Then 30 And if you dared to ask why you d receive a beautifully polite yet absolutely useless reply All very professional All very empty Then came the queen of drama Unit 309 Returned for appearing to be written by artificial intelligence The evidence Turnitin said 14 percent similarity and 36 percent AI Panic A student wrote clearly and made sense suspicious I requested a manual review Big mistake They said no because the AI percentage wasn t zero Apparently if an algorithm has doubts about you your human rights are on hold Welcome to the Ministry of Robotic Judgement I insisted Joanne stepped in And surprise the unit was manually reviewed and accepted exactly as it was Not a single comma touched An apology Of course not Just the classic phrase Donna made no mistake Because at SVT admitting error is more forbidden than critical thinking To top it off Joanne gifted me with a passive-aggressive gem She advised me to focus on the course and kindly added that if I caused any further concern she would be informed Translation you re on the watchlist darling Education meets surveillance How very 2020s But they weren t done Since they couldn t find a real issue with the unit they got creative A certificate suddenly appeared which needed 30 working days to be reviewed A document that wasn t even part of the course At SVT if there s no mistake they ll build one from scratch with a bow Was that the end Oh no Then came the unforgettable Unit 330 fully reflective No references included because it was personal reflection Donna returned it claiming it needed sources Apparently self-awareness now needs citations I asked which policy said that Nothing Joanne sent me a guidance document which ironically confirmed I was right Reflective units don t require references I pointed that out And suddenly Joanne with her 40 years of experience felt offended Because nothing upsets certain professionals more than a student who reads And then like a toothache that shows up the moment you start to rest Tim arrived A character so absent during the course that I thought he was fictional But say the truth politely and voil Tim descends from the administrative heavens With great formality he accused me of being condescending and not following team support whatever that means and cancelled my course Just like that No warning No conversation No regard for the fact all my units were completed Over 12 months of work erased with one click and a vague statement Professional ethics Respect for effort Basic human decency Sorry not on the syllabus To be fair they did offer me a refund within 48 hours It took two weeks three ignored emails and some deep breathingbut it finally came A small administrative miracle blessed by pressure I didn t agree with the cancellation but I accepted it I preferred losing the course than losing my peace And if you re thinking about joining one free tip yes something here is free Get ready to pay for extensions That s the real business model They promise flexibility but if you don t finish on time even if it s due to their own delays you ll be billed Kindly of course Everything comes with a smile and an invoice Would I recommend SVT Absolutely If you love being judged by machines ignored with a smile and punished for writing too well SVT is your dream match I didn t complete the course SVT cancelled it And still I came out stronger Not thanks to them Despite them And one last thing to prove humanity still exists somewhere in there The only kind empathetic and professional person I dealt with was Julie From the first message she was respectful helpful and human a rare species in that ecosystem In the end she had to follow the script like everyone else But I won t forget how she treated me Such a shame someone like her is stuck in a nest of vipers A kiss to you Julie You deserve it

My respectful response to SVT s rewritten plot twist

I submitted the 22 required units for the course 21 were reviewed and accepted The last one Unit 330 was a reflective piece based on my own experience It was returned with the excuse that it needed references even though their own guidance clearly says reflective units do not require them From that moment on it was no longer about academic standards It became personal For over 12 months I did everything expected of me I submitted my work I followed instructions I respected the process And the most curious part Not a single formal warning Not one email saying there was a problem with my tone or behaviour Absolutely nothing Until quite naively I started asking questions When I asked for explanations about delays inconsistent feedback and unspoken rules things started to shift I was no longer just a learner I became the problem I was told I would be monitored as if asking for clarity was some sort of threat Sometimes it is not what you say it is simply that you dared to say anything at all Then came the cancellation Quiet No notice No discussion My course was cancelled with one click and a polite message The same director who cancelled it then offered me a refund which SVT now describes as a gesture of goodwill In reality it was a quiet attempt to close a noisy case They even denied ever promising a 48-hour refund although I have the email from the director himself confirming exactly that It actually took over two weeks and several follow-ups But at SVT time seems to move differently Then came their public response Short at first then carefully edited and polished Suddenly it included words like plagiarism Ofsted CQC and hundreds of happy students Very shiny indeed But no matter how they dress it up the facts remain the same They cancelled a nearly completed course without a single formal complaint without academic failure and without giving me a voice And I must say in a way I am actually glad they decided to explain it here on Trustpilot Not every organisation is brave enough to admit publicly and in writing that they cancelled a whole course because two members of staff felt uncomfortable with a learner who terrible as it sounds simply asked questions That kind of unintentional honesty tells you more than any quality policy ever could So thank you SVT for leaving a public record of what high standards really look like in practice Not excellence but emotional self-defence They also mentioned they gave me a free extension Lovely What they do not say is that SVT is constantly delayed and most students end up having to pay for extensions just to make up for time lost on their side That is part of the business model In my case they only gave it for free once I started asking questions It is funny how generosity suddenly appears when you stop being quiet And about this so-called plagiarism If my work was really so questionable why did they accept 21 out of 22 units Are we talking about a high-standard institution or one that validates work it later decides to condemn Because if SVT passed units they now label unacceptable then the issue is not the student It is whoever approved them And of course their favourite phrase we uphold high standards Really If high standards mean cancelling a learner s entire course over personal discomfort ignoring the work they already completed and dressing up internal tension as academic policy then no thank you That is not a standard That is fear dressed up in procedure And it is sad because I came to SVT genuinely wanting to progress I did not expect that asking questions and thinking critically would make me the problem I did not expect that the price of speaking up would be an entire course wiped out In the end thank you SVT for the one lesson your course did not teach Not about health and social care but about what truly happens when a learner dares to think
