My two teenage boys and I made a week of volunteering part of our vacation to Argentina We painted a school with bonus murals included The real connection made was when my boys played futball in the schoolyard with the local kids every afternoon Our housing with a local family was endearing We were held and supported as members of their family -all logistics yummy food and cozy housing included The hosts were truly wonderful

I have just returned from my IVHQ trip to Fiji The IVHQ team did a wonderful job all the way around From the pre-trip planning to the last night closing ceremony Nothing was missed The local staff was nothing short of awesome From the greeting at the airport transportation accommodations and the food My only regret is I didn t choose a longer stay

IVHQ helped me prepare for a smooth and safe trip They made sure I had travelers insurance all the documents I needed prescriptions and connected me with the most amazing guide who went above and beyond to help me learn where to stay where to eat where to shop and how to get around

Two months ago I boarded a plane to the other side of the world having absolutely no idea what to expect I was scared to leave behind my loved ones but also very excited to get to explore another country I can now say with confidence that it was the best decision I have ever made for myself South Africa is such a beautiful country with incredibly kind and welcoming people I did not know what to expect when I came here but I am leaving with a new perspective on life While volunteering the children showed me what true gratitude is and that you truly don t need much to be happy Thanks to IVHQ I now have a second family in South Africa and a huge passion for travel volunteerism I feel so blessed to have been accepted by IVHQ as a volunteer and I cannot wait to return for another trip

I ve volunteered through IVHQ twice now and the experience has always been INCREDIBLE The IVHQ team does a great job preparing you for your project teaching you about the local culture and helping you through pre-departure technical procedures such as applying for a visa I always felt supported and knew exactly what my next steps were The projects that IVHQ connects volunteers to are meaningful and well-run I m so glad to feel like I m making a difference and really growing as an individual The local teams are totally awesome as well Both teams that I volunteered with made me feel very safe and supported for my entire trip They re very friendly and approachable and easy to contact I really loved my time volunteering and plan to keep coming back to IVHQ

The support from the local team was amazing in HCMC Vietnam especially The main lady co ordinator very thoughtful kind encouraging and reassuring It was an amazing experience and interesting to learn the culture and be part of an amazing program Planning my next program

Hands down the best experience of my life The coordinators were incredibly welcoming and always ready to help I also got very lucky with the other volunteers as I met amazing people who I ve already planned to meet in a year s time hopefully at another IVHQ destination doing the same program Finally the kids I worked with were so special and we all cried when I had to leave after one month They were always so happy and their smiles were contagious Recommended 100

The program was problem free from day one You got all the help you needed both bet for your travel and in country And the local team was amazing always trying to make your day better and easier

I ve never volunteered with IVHQ before but I have volunteered with other organizations in the past With that said I felt that IVHQ provided me with all the information I needed to be prepared and comfortable for my three week trip The pre-departure materials were really thorough There was also a Q A group video chat which was another great way to get your questions answered Pick up and departure was a breeze to coordinate with the team despite airport delays There were some itinerary deviations and some unexpected things have come up during the duration of the program but communicate your needs and go with the flow As long as you re respectful and your requests or concerns are reasonable the local team is accommodating and helpful The volunteer work itself was hardwork in a very rewarding sense and you can see the positive impact it has on the turtles everyday If I had any questions about the turtles or why we do what we do at the turtle centers the local team was easy to approach and was very knowledgeable Overall I would choose IVHQ again

Brilliant three weeks in Argentina Volunteering was wonderful and I only wish I could have helped more I improved my Spanish by having to speak the language and I ll keep improving There was also time for sightseeing IVHQ is not for profit so you re helping not being exploited Everyone gains through this I d encourage you to give it a go
