Poor online tracking facility and unhurried delivery logistics

As per previous review claimed they d attempted delivery at 16 33 My motion triggered cctv says different I ve been here all day no one s called Blatant liars Quick update delivered today without notice lucky I was in but at least item turned up
S

Item left in public view

Compared to other couriers that we have had the experience to encounter Whistl s online tracking facility is poor It does not have sufficient information and is not accurate in reflecting the status of where the delivery is For example Delivery History says out for delivery but Delivery Status still says In Transit It took a at least 2-3 days from the time the item was handed over to the Delivery Carrier by the seller to the item actually being delivered Please improve

Two stars

Item was delivered when I was out The parcel was left on the front doorstep on a main road in full view of anyone passing by There are two prominent notices on the front door requesting callers use the rear entrance which is out of view of the road Just as well the item was not very valuable

Very disappointing performance

Two stars because so long as Yodel are still in business Whistl are not the worst there is They took 8 days to deliver but hey it is nearly Xmas and the parcel did actually arrive What was annoying though was that even though I now have the parcel in my hand the latest entry on their tracking details is still Details created No despatched no out for delivery no received basically their tracking system is completely inoperative
S

Unimpressed with online tracker

Very disappointing performance Bought item online on 13th Dec Supplier reported dispatch on 14th Dec No action from Whistl until 20th Dec when they said it was in transit On 22nd Dec Whistl said it had been handed over to Royal Mail for delivery I am still waiting Luckily it is not an important item required by Christmas Compared to other delivery services Whistl are by far the poorest in my experience

lost or stollen

OK so been waiting for a company to deliver an item for nearly two weeks Finally got a tracking number for Whistl which is L1213411000055365001 The online tracker now says handed to Royal Mail - So how are you supposed to track the item now and when can I expect to receive it

Do you know how a doorbell works

no update in the website only label created 4 days ago an i tracked the number through other website its mentioned that it was delived and no need to sign because of covid19 DUH so yes my shipment has been stolen im not sure why the websites dealing with them this is an update yes finally i recieved the package in my mail box and waiting it but still its a bad company b cus there is no status update and its late

My delivery was left in the bin

I live in small group of flats with a shared entrance Package was left outside the building with no warning No attempt to ring the doorbell I was home all day to get it inside the building let alone to my door No delivery notification so I didn t even realise it had been delivered until hours later Rubbish Package was at least delivered on the advertised date undamaged - but going by previous reviews that s probably just good luck

Two stars only one star lost for sketchy tracking one star lost for incomplete tracking one star lost for condition of the package So I got a tracking number and by putting that into parcelsapp I obtained a sender s reference too Going to Whistl s own website I tracked using the tracking number This informs me after much weight captured height captured in transit with Whistl etc that the package was passed to Royal Mail on 21st May All well and good except that when tracking on the Whistl website using the sender s reference I get a different story the package was apparently passed to Royal Mail on the 19th Interesting So the sender may think I d already had the package delivered when I hadn t yet recieved it I m not sure when the package was actually passed over to Royal Mail Either Whistl spent an inordinately lengthy time weighing and measuring it before passing it to Royal Mail apparently too late to make that day s deliveries OR Whistl passed it relatively quickly to Royal Mail who then artificially slowed it down Either way I m reasonably sure it would have arrived earlier if posted directly with Royal Mail I had several packages posted to me on the same day they all arrived before the Whistl package This tracks with what I ve heard from people who have used Whistl for business mail- I ve heard people refer to it as Third Class post because of the slow delivery time So why do companies use Whistl I assume they must be cheaper as they don t appear to be faster nor can they offer full tracking which even the more maligned courier companies do as they often use Royal Mail s untracked service for the walk-up delivery Now we all like cheap goods and cheap or free delivery so as long as the package arrives it s not so bad But the different tracking information depending on which reference number you use is a bit sketchy Doesn t inspire confidence I m pretty sure the numbers are correct though as the tracking starts off identical with the package starting with Whistl at the same date Well with no Royal Mail tracking to cross reference I have no way of knowing when they received the package Nor can I say which company was responsible for its poor condition on delivery it was a hardback book which was noticeably bent when I unpackaged it Granted this may have been due to the way Royal Mail handled the package rather than Whistl but as Royal Mail were sub-contracted by Whistl then the responsibility for safe delivery ultimately lies with Whistl At the end of the day the parcel did arrive and the bend in the book can hopefully be remedied by sitting it under another heavy book for a few hours But I d hesitate before ordering if I saw a retailer was going to use Whistl If the price was significantly lower fair enough I might take a chance as I was also benefitting from the cheap shipping by paying less But if I could get the same thing from a retailer who used a different delivery company for around the same price Then that s what I d do And if I needed the product fast or wanted to be sure it would be undamaged so no hassle of a return needed then I d avoid any company that used Whistl I see a few replies on here by Whistl often in these they say they are not a delivery company Perhaps this is the real problem Businesses are paying to have goods delivered but the company they are paying says they aren t a delivery company and try to shift any blame to the actual delivery companies who drop off the packages If Whistl have been paid to get a package delivered to it s recipient then however they choose to describe themselves it is surely their responsibility to ensure it arrives safely and in a timely fashion That may seem harsh but I feel all businesses need to know where they fall short hopefully then they can make changes before they lose too much custom This goes for Whistl and for the businesses who use them for shipping
