Very disappointed with the service that I received on both calipers and wheels

Calipers returned full of shot blast media had to strip and clean them and then buy brake grease to reassemble them A friend with the same car sent his calipers I did email BCS to tell them and to ensure that his calipers were returned correctly but they took no notice and his calipers were returned full of shot blast media To be fair I was pleased with the paint on the calipers I was foolish enough to believe their advertising and sent my alloy wheels to be refurbished a very big mistake I sent them in late October 2018 and I hadn t received them back by late February 2019 After many emails and unreturned phone calls I went to collect them they said that they hadn t returned them as they were unhappy with the quality and persuaded me to leave them Stupidly I did When the wheels were finally returned all the rims were covered in balancing weights and the car tried too shake it s self to pieces if you approached 50mph When I contacted them the person who answered said that they didn t know anything about balancing wheels I had to take the car to another garage to get them balanced correctly As for the quality of the work done on the wheels appalling is too good to describe it The inner face of the wheels that mates to the hub hadn t been cleaned before it was diamond cut resulting in the wheel not being cut true the coating has deep cracks and ripples in places the lacquer has been applied far to thickly and you can t tell the difference between the coated and diamond cut part of the wheels The sharp edges produced by the diamond cutting hasn t been smoothed and this leads to the lacquer flaking away from these edges After sending them photos they initially agreed to rectify their very poor quality work but now they don t want to know and I have got too pay again to rectify their very poor work In my response to the reply from the representative of BCS First I would like to thank you for giving me the courtesy of a reply and saying that I have given a fair review which I always try to do However there are a few things incorrect in your response Please read the review again and point out where I said that the powder coating was tacky I have been a well qualified engineer for many years and I know how powder coating works I did say that the lacquer that is applied over the powder coating was tacky Your representative definitely said that he knew nothing about balancing wheels and state of my wheels when they were returned confirms this I still have the photos to prove this if you would like to see them and the place where I took them to have your work corrected are happy to confirm this I have an email from the same representative advising me against taking this problem on in my condition I assume by my condition he means the cancer and the heart attack I didn t realize that your representative is medically qualified to give this advice I have another email from the same person stating the possibility of action been taken against me if I published a review In another email he states that the previous director no longer works for BCS You seem pleased with by changing the director you have kept your business and I am genuinely pleased that your employees are still in work You give no mention to the loss and upset that your customers and suppliers have suffered due to the short comings of the company The company might have changed its name but the same people that ruined my wheels are still there and you are not prepared to take the responsibility for your actions It says a lot about your business ethics In the representatives reply she states that they didn t use lacquer on the wheels every company that refurbishes wheels apply lacquer as a top coat to protect the wheels from the elements I have contacted several companies about trying to have the work corrected who all confirm this The lacquer cracked as it was applied before the base coat had cured

No refund poor quality unacceptable time scale no reply from the owner

Don t be fooled by the impressive website and promises of high quality workmanship My brake calipers were sent for a full refurb and high end paint in gloss black with red painted logos and were supposed to take around three weeks to complete The process took BCS a staggering 18 weeks to complete with no progress updates whatsoever I had to constantly contact the office to ask when the work would be completed and I was given various answers by different members of staff as to why there was such a delay Basically I was being told more than a few lies and was just being fobbed off When completed and ready to be shipped I waited home all day as I was promised them on a 24 hour service it s of no surprise that they didn t arrive that day and apparently were forgotten about Unbelievable considering how long I had already waited The gloss black paint and function of the calipers is of good quality although one was scratched and chipped and they are working as they should BCS made various attempts to paint the red logo onto the calipers and to be honest the result was so poor unfortunately I can t upload photos I would have been embarrassed to bolt them onto the car The red painted decal looked as though it had been done by a 5 year old unable to paint between two lines BCS tried telling me this was due to the poor condition of the cast but I m really not stupid or blind In the end after such a long time and so many phone calls I agreed to go with their advice and have the logos polished and have a refund for the stencilling as I just wanted my calipers back The logo has not been polished just roughly sanded back so doesn t look great and I can t get a refund for the stencilling they were unable to do When I finally received the calipers back they weren t even in a safe or useable state one of the bolts had been replaced with someone else s corroded bolt that had a too long a thread meaning one of the pad retaining plates was very loose One of the newly fitted bleed nipples would let fluid straight though as if it had been left undone the only way I could use that caliper was to fit one of the old nipples back in I emailed BCS just to ask about the refund for the stencilling and received a reply from the company owner Richard Munt saying that I wouldn t get a refund for the stencilling I then replied to Richard saying that I had been told I would get a refund as they were unable to complete the work to a high standard their words not mine I also sent some photos of all the faults on my calipers and have had no reply since nor have I to any other email I ve sent to both of their email addresses This has been the most frustrating experience I ve ever had and I can t believe a company can get away with treating customers in this way Although everyone I spoke to on the phone has had a great friendly attitude the whole experience of dealing with this company has been a complete and utter nightmare

Very Poor Service Overall

When my imported Chevrolet Corvette required two calipers reconditioned I immediately recommended this company to the mechanic preparing my car as I had used them almost fours years previously and had received an excellent service when they refurbished the Vauxhall Chevette front calipers fitted to my Morris Minor Hot Rod Sadly this latest experience has left me quite frankly furious BCS Automotive received the calipers towards the end of April 2018 and once assessed they advised the mechanic that new seal kits had to be ordered which would take till about the middle of June to arrive from their supplier Not a good timescale given that we had ordered and received other parts for the Corvette from USA their supplier was in Texas in 5 days This roughly 4 week delay turned into more than 6 weeks Then when the calipers came back and were fitted and bled on vehicle one leaked worse than it had before They were advised it was duly sent back by the mechanic at his expense not by the quoted own courier service BCS would arrange with faults found in their workmanship Apparently the dust seals were damaged ruined when taking caliper back apart so new seal kit was ordered again albeit with a much quicker turnaround Not so After a few more weeks and chasing them up we were initially advised that the courier had tried to deliver the kit to BCS but no-one was in then we were advised that for some reason the import tax on the seal kit had not been paid hence why it was still at Customs and not been delivered Which story excuse to believe Eventually the caliper with new seals was returned having been tested and all good at BCS as it had been previously apparently and once fitted and bled yes you ve guessed it it leaked again as before It was duly taken to a brake caliper company near to the mechanic who very quickly established that the seals had been put in the WRONG WAY ROUND Obviously twice now This company also managed to remove and refit without damaging dust covers etc Suffice to say the other caliper that originally came back and bled ok was tested again unfortunately during the car s MoT and it too leaked and on further inspection oh yes the seals were in the wrong way round too Mechanic has duly sorted the calipers now himself and both he and I have phoned and e-mailed BCS as per their complaints policy and requested a refund but to date there has been no reply to either of us in any format Looks like we ll be going down the Dispute Resolution Ombudsman as BCS are a Which Trusted Traders as per their website So all in all due to a complete lack of workmanship putting in seals incorrectly a total of three times in two calipers and ridiculous turn around times for the refurbishment I have had to wait from the end of April to the end of September 2018 to have the calipers completed and not even by BCS Automotive The lack of communication from their side now just rubs salt in the wounds and confirms my decision to never use this company again

Many problems experienced

Left my car left in dangerous state returned 3 times had to pay again elsewhere to fix revoked promise of reimbursement to damaged hoses Sacked member of staff that worked on my car They did agree to repaint callipers and wheels but took several months and problems continued Took car elsewhere for resolution BCS agreed to pay for replacing brake hoses but revoked on this saying that BCS now in liquidation Here is the report from engineer I paid 900 after BCS supposedly fixed their mistakes Hi Graham Explanation of findings with brakes as follows Braided brake hoses had been clamped off presumably for work on caliper repaint this crushes the hose and it will not come back to shape unlike a rubber hose This is dangerous a major MOT failure point and also why you found the brakes not working very well We replaced the hoses and then re-bled the brakes including ABS system until we had a good normal brake pedal Driving the car at this point the brakes seemed to be working relatively well however squealing quite significantly The aim was then to get rid of the squealing so the car went back onto the ramp with the intention of facing the discs and pads and checking lubrication of pads and rear caliper sliders The fronts were done without any issue They had what appeared to be rubber grease as lubricant on the pads which is something I have never seen before This grease is designed as the name suggests as a rubber lubricant and is not suitable for the use on brake pads This was all cleaned off and correct high-temp aluminium brake paste applied to all contact surfaces The rears proved to be more stubborn Pads and discs sorted OK but the rear caliper sliders were almost seized solid which means that whilst the brake may come on with high pressure from the foot pedal it would only be really using the inner pad and it would certainly not retract correctly again dangerous We disassembled the sliders and found further rubber grease and green paint I would say it is not good practice to paint inside the slider holes on the calipers in the sliders which is sticky so cleaned out and refitted with normal multi-purpose grease which freed the sliders off however they were still not working correctly until we removed the paint from inside where the sliders fit in the caliper Further road test at this point and the squealing was improved but still present under light braking at low speeds and now that the pads were free moving in the calipers not stuck with rubber grease the pads were rattling at low speed So we removed the front pads once again fitting anti-squeal shims to the rear of the pad and anti-rattle buffers to the caliper which may well have been removed during caliper refurbishment process Final road test there is a very slight squeal at low speed which may improve with use There are no further measures that can be taken to remove the squeal without starting to replace pads and or discs

Terrible workmanship

So BCS did a complete refurb job on my brake calipers with their high end paint finish Very impressed with the flashy website and in fact their communication is pretty decent most of the time they pick up the phone Unfortunately most of what they say is complete rubbish So on receiving the calipers back the painter had managed to strip a helicoil thread whilst sandblasting there was no option but to get this re threaded During the course of the warranty period I ve had three of the calipers seize Whilst they have always said send the back which I ve done there is absolutely no regard for the time and cost to do so they take no responsibility for their workmanship and pretty much leave you high and dry frankly don t be swayed by the website or warranty This is an atrocious company you will regret using I do not want to turn this into a forum1 I left the review because I haven t managed to get through to BCS on the phone 2 this has not been discussed in great detail3 you omit to explain the helicoil4 I have NOT asked for 500 just explained that the last time I sent my calipers back that was the cost and to be clear I m not asking for it 5 my postage was NOT paid for You mention your great warranty I mention your service I ve now had three major failures helicoil rear and front calipers in forty months so yes your calipers last on average 13 months if you want to put it in time scale terms For fairness Richard the owner has connected me directly and I am willing to alter or add to this review depending on the outcome

BREMBO CALIPER WORK

BREMBO CALIPER WORK PORSCHEZERO stars the headline should have read Brembo Calliper refurbishment not simply work and for the price paid I should have rated it 5 stars DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE They did not split the callipers charged me 120 for machine work that would be impossible to carry out without splitting the callipers and worst of all returned one calliper that was ODD I had such little trust in BCS that I did not risk returning the odd calliper to them DO NOT GO NEAR THEM ZERO STARS

Lacklustre Customer Service and Almost NO attention to Detail

I returned a pair of brake calipers to be thoroughly remanufactured with a High End paint job I was initially expecting the whole job to take approximately 20 working days but after 5 months I m STILL waiting for a successful conclusion There were constant delays with no communication forthcoming from the Customer Service department - unless I requested updates - which I had to do on numerous occasions After a month and a half since I was needing to use the car I was forced to purchase a replacement pair of calipers They returned the calipers to me 6 weeks after I d sourced new replacements but some of the dust seals didn t properly fit Three and a half months later they STILL haven t been able to supply replacements The latest development is that they ve managed to send the latest set of replacements to an address nearly 200 miles away expecting me to agree that their delivery is a help to me N B The above rating is the lowest possible on this website I d have preferred not to have given any stars at all

Same problems as other negative reviews

Just like other review in here no communication they had my calipers for 14 days I have been without my car for a month They said I would have the calipers the Friday before which was 10 days After numerous emails and telephone calls which were ignored they tried to say it was because they went back to painting The last email I sent I specifically stated it was to go to the CEO and that was ignored too I still haven t got an answer Another example of a company not giving a crap about they re customers once they have the product Disgusting service If you want to be ignored mucked about and lied to give them your calipers I object to giving 1 star but you have to If you like companies hiding behind small print use them
