Impossible to end services with them We tried to end our contract in early 2023 They said the earliest we could do it was October We tried in December they said we had to have done it by November and now we must use their horrible services for a second year in a row after trying to cancel Be wary We want to hire our own personal bookkeeper who we choose going forward but we ve been stuck with them and their 300 a month fee

This company has been completely negligent with my accounts They signed me up for the wrong packages gave me incorrect files and gave me incomplete books What bookkeeping company omits payroll reports BENCH They ve done nothing but waste my time and money They never answer the phone I have an urgent request and I ve called and messaged them 10 times since last week and no one has responded Avoid BENCH at any and all costs They are incompetent

It was good the first year and now i cannot get in contact with them and get my book keepings released for 2023 so i can do my tax returns

Bench was great--until it wasn t I ve been shuffled around various different bookkeepers over the past 2 years One bookkeeper was phenomenal but the others weren t good During that 2-year period They made 2 serious mistakes on my books that would have cost me a lot of money if I hadn t discovered them myself The mistakes were made despite the fact that I checked in with each bookkeeper to make sure the particular problem had been addressed and it wasn t Unfortunately Bench seems to have lost its soul in a quest to scale I m really disappointed to see a company I once loved lose what made it great

The entire process was a nightmare From the onboarding representative not showing up To our free month getting fully charged I question their ethics legalities and how dedicated they are to their customer base I would steer FAR FAR away from Bench

1 star isn t even earned This has to be the WORST company I ever worked with Not only do they sell you that they can do all these services but then they don t even categorize your transactions the way you advised after they made you spend all the time categorizing it yourself when you pay them to do that for you Then when you attempt to reach someone EVERYONE is magically UNAVAILABLE Does no one work there not even in sales The direct contact you speak to to work your books or cancel with never attend the meetings you schedule and then to top that off no one answers the phone or calls you back Did they tell you they do cash accrual books they lied They do not respond to you they lie and say your items are ready to go to the next bookkeeper accountant but then you never hear back from anyone all the while they keep taking their fee from your account and in order to cancel you must schedule a meeting with a customer care specialist who does not attend the meeting and then flakes on your calls and emails I literally called every number and got a voicemail every time and the last call was to sales and again VOICEMAIL You may be making money but only because you re stealing it from businesses who actually need help

Working with Bench has been a complete nightmare I ve been bounced around to so many people it s absurd They were so late in getting my extension taxes done that I now have to file a paper return for my business Once I finally received my tax return they attached another client s coversheet with their names and refund amount Talk about mistakes that should have never happened

This is a very incompetent company They have charged me thousands for services that they have not performed I have used them for almost a year I have tried to cancel them and they keep charging me When you call no one answers in any department The voice mail states that they will call you back with in 1 business day My rep Benjamin makes appointments and will not hold the appointment time You sit there and wait for them and they never call

They lied to me I was told I could put my account on hold any time I needed to as they were very expensive In the middle of doing my books my husband passed away suddenly He was the main laborer in my business Now suddenly I have much less income and funeral expenses to cover and now BENCH ACCOUNTING is sending me threatening emails about my severely delinquent account after just two months 2300 left to pay and I have nothing to show for the thousands I already paid

Do not sign up with Bench Their affordability and easy interface got me but a year later the numbers don t add up no one replies and although I linked all my accounts they continuously ask me to manually upload all kinds of docs For all the manual work they require I can just be doing my own bookkeeping Seriously it s tax season and I am now going back to do a years worth of bookkeeping and am out thousands of dollars
