I appreacted the content that they did

I appreacted the content that they did offer but not a lot of depth in these courses Also not enough practice for mastery sometimes Some lessons were like waw that s cool butA LOT of problems are based on you already knowing a lot of math without them explaing So it was very frustrating Some explanations were like waw that s coolBut some were horrible and tedius to read though like it was copied straight out of a textbook sourse Some were too short Need more interactions or graphics and explanation on each step of the problem I e added this square root that etc So it s not another puzzle to figure out what the explanation was They should have a comentary section for the thumbs up People should see each others comments and potentially point out mistakes and share each other s frustrations or broblem solving methods if need be And vote on people s comments on how helpful it is So to sort by the most helpful comments Need more creative developers and story tellers not just textbook mathematicians and graphic designers Fingers crossed the current courses will keep proving dramatically and a bit less effort is afforded on adding more courses I would love to be a designer to reimagine a lot of this content

The app works flawlessly which makes it suspicious that the only button which doesn t work is Cancel Premium Plan

The app is great and the problems

The app is great and the problems brilliant but they trick you in to the subscription by offering it as a free trial but charging you for a year

It is sad that the only language

It is sad that the only language available for the courses in English Which means it is not very child-friendly It is a very good app nonetheless

Not teaching you how to catch the fish and shaming you

Brilliant doesn t teach you much besides putting you to shame for not GUESSING correctly the eyes looking sideways is a turn-off many of the problems and explanations are tautological not progressive or intelligent steps of deductions The solution is often by guesswork or exceptions much like the creation of a problem in the first place And they don t teach you how to catch the fish They teach you some fish superficially They don t teach you how to derive rules or formulae for the corresponding lesson In some problems you have to do research instead of exercising intelligence creativity Some knowledge-based courses are just a rote process too However it does have many problems that are fun and friendly

Good weekly challenges

It has fun puzzles and great weekly challenges But its free content is so poor and the page is so insistent in you buying a membership that unless you buy one it is really just good for the challenges the other stuff is there just to constantly tell you Hey you see ALL this things Well you can t use them but let me clutter your view

Meh

Meh Overpriced The ads make it seem like they have a lot of interactive content to help you learn but for the linear algebra course there was none of this It felt super thrown together There has been absolutely nothing available that you can t find better for free online So what s the point
A

Not for everyone

I have a pretty bad case of ADHD but somehow managed to self-taught a lot of things some of which are pretty complex And managed to get a job in game industry as a tech artist So with that said I strongly wouldn t recommend this service to people with same problems or same views I decided to fill gaps in math and algebra knowledge because a lot of approaches simply hadn t worked for me just couldn t keep my attention And from promo-materials it seemed like it is all-in-one place solution which would be perfect for me But in practice it turned out like this I have to google stuff somewhere on one monitor i have a bunch of tabs with info on second - app for writing down solutions krita mypaint And the brilliant org somewhere in this mess So instead of distraction-free workspace I got just a bunch of not-so-profound and random tasks lacking feeling of progression and order And hell it s distracting You have to motivate yourself not to learn something but to use this thing It is whispering - it is not for you it s for someone prepared and motivated and with normal thinking process Don t trust marketing normal people and bloggers who was paid and who are sharing discounts it is better to find yourself a teacher lest you will find yourself frustrated and hopeless

Content missing in paid part don t recommend

I saw an ad and got attracted by computer science course After first lesson I hit a paywall that asked to add credit card to get a free 30 day trial with a 140 charge at the end of the period I entered my credit card details to continue the course but it appears that all other lessons are empty no content Instead of a task description every task says Uh oh Part of this problem is missing And it s the same for all lessons after the free one I might be interested in other courses but I really disliked that approach when I was baited to commit for a subscription when there were no lessons except for the most basic
