Purchased a used car back in January from this company Salesman was fine test drove the car and noticed a couple issues which were advisories on the MOT as well as well as an issue with the trim which we asked to be addressed before we collected the car and were assured they would be we also asked for the paintwork to be inspected for any issues or any other issues to be rectified as when we test the drove the car it was raining and was difficult to thoroughly inspect the vehicle Upon collecting the car the trim had been poorly glued instead of replaced and the rear tyres which were picked up as an advisory on its last MOT had not been replaced only the front set which was disappointing The brakes were in poor condition especially the back discs which were scorn and worn and were squeaking badly The handbrake was also not holding well at all The boot struts were also not operating properly no such issue on the same new car we have the switch on the passenger window door was damaged and sharp and the vehicle had clearly had a bump as the rear reflector light had damage and the rear panel was also scratched and touched up in the same area Not what you would expect for a 3 year old car with low mileage and one owner This company had a month to bring the car up to standard prior to collection and they played ignorant to the issues and claimed the car had been inspected when we raised the issues it clearly hadn t been checked visually or mechanically properly We were initially happy to have the minor issues rectified however when we noticed the damage to the vehicle it was the final straw for us In fairness the manager did refund us in full for the car and was apologetic however this whole experience was poor and very inconvenient as it left us without a car for a period of time whilst we sourced a suitable vehicle A lesson to be learned here I feel and I couldn t recommend this garage based on our experience We have since bought a brand new model of the same car and couldn t be happier EDIT - I would argue the dealers view that the car was prepared to their highest standards and the fact that they are still playing ignorant to the issues we outlined below and clearly do not want to own up to any of the many issues that were present on the car when they sold it to us They also failed to mention that during the purchase of the vehicle we were dealing with a very poorly family member but would rather point the blame on us for the issues they sold to us on the car which we barely got time to enjoy during this difficult time I assume we broken the passenger button scratched the car caused damage to the light and wore the tyres and brakes down within 3-4 weeks of ownership as well The tyres may have had 7mm left on them but it was agreed at the point of sale that the rear tyres would be changed and this did not happen they were also the original tyres which were over 3 years old hence why we asked they were changed having checked the MOT prior to sale It s not reasonable to expect a customer to inspect every inch of a car at point of collection aside from the fact you trust that the garage has done their job and checked the vehicle thoroughly which Carlingo clearly hadn t done and still maintain they had do so it s shame we can t add pictures onto this review showing the issues that they still are claiming no responsibility for

Would not recommend using Carlingo
I purchased a car from Carlingo Dealership three months ago and what was supposed to be a joyous moment turned into a never-ending ordeal After driving the car for just a few months I discovered multiple faults that were not disclosed during the purchase and when I tried to reach out to Carlingo for assistance they displayed a shocking lack of concern and willingness to help Firstly let me begin with the abysmal condition of the vehicle they sold me After three months of ownership I decided to take the car for a health check at another garage due to some concerning noises and handling issues To my dismay the independent garage discovered not one but multiple faults that Carlingo had conveniently kept hidden The car had not one but two leaking shock absorbers causing unsafe driving conditions Additionally there was a coolant leak which is a significant engine problem that could lead to costly repairs if left unaddressed Even more alarmingly the sump plug hadn t been tightened properly resulting in a hazardous oil leak Upon discovering these issues I immediately contacted Carlingo Dealership to address the problems hoping they would take responsibility and offer a resolution However the response I received was shockingly dismissive and unhelpful The staff seemed uninterested in my concerns and unwilling to acknowledge their responsibility for selling a faulty vehicle I reminded them of my rights under the Consumer Rights Act which clearly states that if a product is faulty the seller is obliged to offer a repair replacement or refund However Carlingo showed no willingness to rectify the situation or even discuss any potential solutions Their lack of accountability and disregard for consumer rights left me feeling cheated and deceived I am deeply disappointed by Carlingo s blatant disregard for their customers and their unwillingness to take responsibility for selling a defective vehicle I strongly urge potential buyers to steer clear of Carlingo Dealership to avoid falling victim to their unscrupulous practices and poor customer service Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a dealership that values its customers and upholds ethical business practices

Terrible experience and attitude from Sales manager
I travelled nearly 250 miles after leaving a 300 deposit on an Audi TT to find out the car was not as described by the salesman there was a bent rear bumper and 75 mm scratch from the petrol cap to the side of the car the salesman says sorry I never saw that I got the manager to look at the scratch he says it was always there I told the abrupt manager I was not happy I came all this way from Scotland and was not told about the damage on the car his reply was sorry of your not happy you can leave it I will return your deposit and you can go back to Scotland I told him I would have to repair myself at my cost it got worse I tried the sliding cubby hole in front of the gear stick and it broke off in my hand in front of the salesman I asked if they could possibly give me a short ride to the car hire company to drop the hire car of I was told sorry we have not one person to go the 15 min journey My opinion is once the cash was in their account the smiles stopped job done next mug please I would never recommend this company to anyone they are a disgrace to the car industry

Rude SALESMAN
Salesman is really rude Said that he won t let me test drive because I m not really interested when I told him I m dead set on an m140i Obviously you want to compare different cars on how they run they re not all the same The way I see it is he is judging us on how we look so he is uninterested in accommodating us How are you going to sell if you tell people you re not really interested in buying Last time I got a car from a different place the salesman was really nice let us drove test a car and I really liked it so I bought it Now they want to accommodate me now that I ve left a bad review telling me to comeback to the showroom All I know is the salesman was even moaning and didn t care when I walked off Learn how to treat everyone the same to the salesman we talked to AVOID

Worst ever car dealership ever lied to my face
Worst ever car dealership ever Bought a suzuki AWD 2015 with a faulty gearbox and clutch Took back to garage they were not interested told was driving car wrong Carlingo told me they would give me extra time to see if problem occurs outside the 3 months then lied to my face about giving extra time once the 3 months expired I did say to them they would not honour after the 3 months legal warranty two managers both told me they would and suprise suprise not interested once came back a second time DO NOT BELIEVE THE SALES PEOPLE OR GARAGE MANAGER Get everything in writing they lie to your face I will not be recommending this company

Appalling aftercare Problems from day one Now - the car dies in an intersection close to the dealership yet it was the MINI garage that came to my rescue Battery nearly dead but looks quite new alternator Called Carstinko can fit me in on 27th of this month Car under warranty and has RAC Platinum service and maintenance also Carlingo don t give a toss once the car is sold Disgraceful lack of service from arrogant dismissive staff UPDATE - Having been subjected to using the bus service during the Great Yorkshire Show I am sorry to say that there is NO excuse for the appalling lack of service from Carlingo For anyone looking to buy here - DON T The RAC breakdown and platinum service are a joke Worthless A grand for a useless service

Previously bought a vehicle from Carlingo in Harrogate just under 2 years ago so went back to them first to see if they wanted to buy the Range Rover Evoque They asked how much we wanted - we said that we were unsure but obviously wanted the best price that they could offer They came out with a table of prices and said that they could offer between 8 thousand and 10 thousand but that they would have to offer closer to 8 due to the car sale business being dead at this time of year We said that a 4 wheel drive vehicle should sell well at this time of year Dec and were told that it doesn t work like that and that the market is dead at this time of year and that the numbers on the printed sheet are compiled from sales across the country and we would be lucky to get that We felt like we were being pressured and spoken down to Went to the dealers next door and were shown the Parker s trade in valuation on the computer screen as being 11 800 and were told that the car market is not dead at this time of year unless selling a convertible We went to two more dealers and were told that they would offer us about 12 thousand We phoned we buy any car and were given a valuation of 12 225 We phoned motorway who said that they would sell it with a reserve of 12 168 We thought that Carlingo would show us some loyalty and not try to rip us off We were wrong Never believe a printed sheet from a car dealer seems to be the lesson learned

Disappointed Water leaks at the boot
Disappointed There s water leak at the boot and we re told it s been fixed and tested with no more leaking before we bought it Sadly it s found that water still leaks afterwards Waiting for a check up next month Hope it could be sorted completely

I purchased and collected my new car on Tuesday 3rd December My Initial experience with the salesman Adam was good - No issues with Adam One day after collection i noticed the heaters were not working on the drivers side Passenger side blows hot air Drivers side blows cold Carlingo is 50 miles from my home so have had to book in with my local BMW garage but have to wait 3 weeks for earliest appointment and will be without car for 2 days one for diagnostic and 2nd when they have it back to rectify the issues Then on day 6 of owning the car i went out to go to work and it wouldn t start Had to get the AA out to it and the battery was knackered and had to pay out 255 for a new battery and missed a mornings work and now have to make up the 4 hours that i sat waiting for AA to get it back on the road Yes i can claim it back but why should I have all these inconveniences within the first week of purchasing a new car at a cost of over 20KIts my opinion that these should have been checked before leaving the garage show room The aftersales response was that they couldn t have predicted the issues well i feel if the vehicle had been checked rigorously - As advertised on their website i wouldn t have had these issues I am now nervous as to what else might go wrong with the car and wouldn t buy from Carlingo again

Appalling sales experience from the entire team at Carlingo
We had travelled over 3 hours to view a black Golf GTI Performance RK69 VHA on 3 1 25 and unfortunately we were sold the car on a plethora of misinformation from Adam Before setting the deposit down we had asked a variety of questions most importantly related to any work done by the team at Carlingo in relation to the prep work of the car Adam had assured with complete confidence that the car was in immaculate condition and there was no work done by Carlingo Upon first inspection the front bumper of the car was poorly resprayed and immediately my suspicions rose and with Adam now seeing that we had started to pick apart details of the car he quickly decided to ignore us all Once inside we then found out that Carlingo - resprayed the front bumper which was done very poorly touched up the alloys and switched the front tyres However I was sold on the basis that they did nothing and the car was immaculate Overall as more issues were found with the car Adam decided to completely ignore us and disappeared They wasted our time today and slapped the refund back on our faces with no apologies for any of the events today Not a single member of the management team had come to see what was going on but they were all stood in the office watching on as one member of their team was dealing with us They were all fingers and thumbs when we asked a very basic question regarding the service history of the car which they had gotten wrong on their website Not only were we fobbed off we were made to make a round trip of 6 hours to which the only thing we received was the shoddy service and stretching of the truth of a highly unprofessional sales team at Carlingo There are better places to spend your hard-earnt money than Carlingo and there are competent dealers out there who actually have honesty about the condition of their stock
