Just been hit with 575 euro charge for a scuffed alloy They said its new I said no way and that we had been super careful with the car etc I was asked if I had insurance which I do through a 3rd party and that was that An email arrived with a crazy charge for something I did not do The car was picked up in the dark in badly lit car park This is how they make money and its a poor long term business strategy as people will stop using companies like this

A car rental company which should be avoided
I rented a car in Thessaloniki branch in February through an agent They charge you for the fuel in advance and claim they give it back to you when the car is returned Which is unusual and haven t informed about it during the online booking They also tell you some horror stories about people who paid hundreds of pounds because they didn t buy an insurance from them which is make it even more bizarre I should gone away at this point but was night too tired and wanted to reach my accomodation in Kavala asap I returned the car to the Thessaloniki airport 1 hour and 30 minutes later than specified time Friday night and at 8 30 pm instead of 7 00pm and charged extra 50 euros For the whole week 5 days the rental charge was 39 euros so how an extra hour can cost customer 50 euros in a very quite season is beyond my comprehension I rented a car for business and private uses in last 10 years and always selected the time as an approximate indication All rental companies which I know charge customers per day not an hour Hence selecting few hours more or less during booking doesn t make any difference on rental price during the time of booking Also all rental companies understand that they re dealing with customers who either fly or drive from far distances so they anticipate delays in collection or delivery Returning a car few hours later or earlier was never been an issue for me in the past I do understand returning a car one day late would cause a problem but seriously 50 euros for been late for one hour There were not even a customer to say they were desperately waiting for my rented car I found this company looking for excuses to unlawfully charges their customer It s maybe their business model or some mistakes happened but it was the first and last time I rented a car from them and advise you to avoid them too

Got charged 250 Euro for small dent in license plate
The license plate had a small dent in it the bumper did NOT HAVE ANY damage at all only the license plate I was charged 250 euro for a dent in a license plate that would cost less than 10 euro to replace Never Centauro again I did contact customer support as you indicated in your reply Within half a minute I received an automated reply saying that the case is considered Closed no one actually looked into it or even read my message Absolutely USELESS

Very bad customer service - No customer service at all
On December 29 I posted a review on Centauro I complained about the charges for additional car cleaning cost when returning the rental car Same day Centauro replied via Trustpilot requesting to send an email with further details I did next day I never got a reply from Centauro even after 3 reminders Centauro wants to show good CS on this review platform but the real fact is they don t care about their customers These kind of replies on Trustpilot are just holding messages with no intention to really look into the case let alone came with a proper solution

BEWARE OF DOUBLE CHARGES
Another two weeks have passed since the last email and I still haven t received a response or a refund I ve seen many customer reviews complaining about double charges so it seems to be a common occurrence At this point I will be reaching out to a lawyer to help resolve this issue that has remained unresolved since 2019 and I will continue to share my experience on every social media platform to inform your customers that you are not reliable

They took up front payment from my debit card When i arrived at athens airport to rent the car i was told of their recent decision to not allow car rental unless credit card available I inly had thd same debit card they took payment from and was ready to rent the car with cash in account They kept the rental provided no car and i would never rent from them again

they made me buy smart cover after they scared me even minor things would cost over hundred of pounds I was told the smart cover would be for around 26 day to find out later I was charged 45 86 day total 229 30 for five days they took deposit for full tank of 115 taken out of my account to be refunded after i return the car full tank Why the have my credit card number if the car tank returned not they can charge what even worse they have no customer service e mail you can not find reviews on their web site or any site they operate from it is the worst ever company I have ever used over thirty years

I m reaching out to share a devastating experience and issue a warning to fellow travelers regarding our recent encounter with Centauro in Madeira Despite conducting a thorough inspection upon collecting the car it s imperative to highlight that internal components like the engine or clutch couldn t be assessed As a lifelong manual car driver I ve never faced clutch issues even in challenging terrains However shortly after minimal driving the car broke down leading to a significant disruption in our plans Upon receiving a replacement vehicle we discovered additional damage that was initially undocumented requiring local staff to amend the paperwork It s crucial to emphasize our inability to inspect internal car parts From my perspective it s evident that the initial car likely had a worn-out clutch possibly due to its prior use in Madeira s hilly terrain by countless drivers before me Despite this we have not received any conclusive evidence or an independent assessment of the damage At present I ve only received an invoice and was charged 1750 euros Our experience with Centauro has been profoundly the worse experience we have ever encounter by car rental company resulting not just in unjust charges but also in a significant loss of time during our holiday I feel compelled to share this on social media to alert fellow travelers and ensure they re informed before you decide to engage with this company PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM AND READ ALL PAST REVIEWS AS WE ARE NOT THE FIRST PEOPLE WHO HAS BEEN PUT INTO THIS SITUATION FIND DIFFERENT COMPANY

The car wasn t full of fuel when collected at Alicante Airport despite the fact that I was charged for a full to full service I have emailed the Comany twice and I ve received no response Perhaps only a relatively small issue however when issues are raised in a courteous manner by existing repeat customers and these are completely ignored then this is perhaps indicative of a poor company We should all be on notice of these facts
