As a member of 10 years I recently decided to use their web service I quickly found out that you have to pay the subscription price twice to get the magazine and web access I contacted them and they were rude so I cancelled Honestly it wasn t that big of a loss because the magazine content is usually 90 irrelevant to my needs interests and other sites on the web provide similar services for free What really got me is that they were rude and made no attempt to hold onto a decade long customer

Purchased one about cars For 2020 First they provide now data only for 3 years First 3 years every car is ok at least For Toyota rav4 they predicted reliability as average even though everything was perfectly fine for past 3 years and we all know it is perfect for past 20 years For some other makes like chevrolet and Hyundai they giving perfect predictions Total bogus Use own brain and comon sense

Shame on you Consumer Reports I am in the Uk and your reports are not relevant here Trying to cancel membership is a nightmare Every link just takes me around again not to the spot where I can actually cancel I tried Chat and telephone all without success as I was left holding on without actual contacting anyone Calling from the UK EXPENSIVE

Confirmed by court consumer reports is misleading As video footage from court case against CR showed CR intentionally changed test course to manipulate results and make the car finally fail the new test to support their agenda while it performed well on the actual test course Despite court case CR continues their political agenda Today GM again is involved with CR and now they are attacking Teslas far superior autopilot system

CONSUMER REPORTS AVOID There are now MUCH better alternatives
CONSUMER REPORTS I joined CR to research a particular product robot window cleaners Their search results weren t anything remotely related to robot window cleaners so I tried to contact them within their normal business hours which by the way were different depending upon which Consumer Reports page on which I landed by phone got a busy signal and by chat Contact Us by Chat instructions were very clear however none of the Contact Us by Chat links were clickable NEVER AGAIN There are now several other CR -type websites that are better and more importantly available for support questions It s rare that I take the time to compose reviews however this case warranted my efforts Hope it helps others

I have been a subscriber for many years
I have been a subscriber for many years but more and more I have very disappointed in my purchases based on their ratings Most recently I bought a toaster that was their 2023 highest recommended and nothing the review said was accurate I bought another of the same unit and same result Internet research shows that my findings were experienced by a significant population I can no longer depend on CR research

I joined in hopes of getting some reviews on a few products that I was in need of Honestly they had a few comments on different coffee makers I thought that they would have many reviews for products no I also was interested in getting some reviews for a dog bark collar there were none Even refrigerators there weren t enough reviews on the few fridges that were listed Don t waste your money

A Ranking website that doesnt show the Ranking list
Consumereports used to be awesome and related to the tech available for the day Now none of the new items are listed though you can look at your father grandfather items Major issue that you cannot rank the items they are ranking in order of thier RANK You read this right YOU CANNOT get a top to bottom list Just a randomn list that goes upo and down in the ranking Useless to see the items in thier ranked place

Oh boy the old LAST CHANCE con game
Oh boy another one of those Last chance FINAL INVOICE CR scams to renew my current subscription for 26 sheesh I still have almost a year left per the date on my magazine shipping label and have been getting these for months Immediate payment REQUIRED NOW they say Here it is August 9 2021 The notice has a tiny script that reads EXP MAY 22 at the top Can you say FRAUD I knew you could Dawn Nelson Senior Director CR no longer represents honest businesses and don t conduct non-partisan reviews as in years past The product reviews aren t accurate or correct in many instances and that includes the vehicles I won t be renewing

With many issues of the magazine I receive come encouragements to extend my membership of make a donation With my latest can an alert FINAL NOTICE Really My membership doesn t expire until August 2019 Tricking people into spending their money when they don t need to is a tactic I expect from businesses that can t be trusted Now that will include CR I guess that August issue really will be my last
