I can t fault the in store

I can t fault the in store staff service but unfortunately the Head Office Customer Service Repair Centre really lets the business down I used Cubitts for the first time around 12 months ago having been recommended to do so by a work colleague The in store team on Jermyn St were faultless and I have since recommended numerous colleagues and family members Unfortunately my recent experience with the wider business has left me feeling a little frustrated to say the least Around 2 weeks ago my glasses just fell apart which fortunately is covered under the warranty as it seems to be a manufacture fault I called Cubitts and sent photos as requested and within minutes I had a return label and arranged for glasses to be collected by the Royal Mail - all very easy and straightforward The glasses were delivered on the following Monday as per the RM tracking having posted them on Friday I called the following Friday to ask if they had been received as the Cubitts order tracker online was unclear and I had been told to expect an email upon arrival The lady who answered the phone said they had not been received and suggested I checked the tracking again despite my assurances it stated delivered After a little encouragement she went to the repair lab and subsequently found they had been received but hadn t been worked on yet Nearly 10 days later I am still without an update my glasses nor any timeframes on when I will receive them All promises of an email with an update haven t materialised and in truth I am now pretty disappointed UPDATE 26 10 23 Sam in Customer Service has been very helpful in resolving the issues It s always a little annoying when it takes a review for things to get sorted but all is well that ends well and I now have my repaired glasses back

The frames are great

This review is a belated one since I wanted to make sure of my overall experience with the glasses I am based in Sweden and bought a pair of glasses in January 2023 via their website It took three weeks to get them shipped and after 3 5 weeks I received them It was not a problem waiting for them However I also had to pay customs which made it difficult to calculate the total cost Again this is not a problem since I love the design of these frames but it would be great to have a fixed price like what Amazon usually provides The packaging and frames were lovely I started feeling dizzy with strong headaches though after some hours of wearing them i e switching between my laptop screen and going outside for a walk Since this was a persistent issue and a month had passed already I went to another optometrist to check my eye s health and to see if there was an underlying condition They checked the previous prescription and did an eye test again but everything was fine However they told me since these lenses are progressive they have to be of a higher quality with more levels of progression to switch between being able to see far away clearly and also closer when working with my laptop This was not the case and no one at Cubitts mentioned the fact that there were different quality levels of progressive lenses before the purchase In the end I had to change the lenses to another pair of Cubitts glasses bought here in Sweden and paid 650 extra for these lenses and rarely use the ones bought from the web store when for example I do one thing at a time i e just going outside for a walk without trying to switch and see closer I have never contacted their customer support to inform them since a year and a half has passed already and I am sure it is not possible to do anything about this I am considering buying only the frame but going to a shop here in Sweden to add better-quality progressive lenses Edit I have updated my rating due to the wonderful support I have received even after a year and a half Thank you Sam for your advice and fast response

Great product service a let down

I have been using Cubitts for years now after I discovered them by accident They are slightly expensive but the frames really last and I have been asked so many times where did I get mine My only quibble if anything is with the in-store service I received after I visited their store in Greenpark The optician made a slight remark when I asked about the premium frames which were gold plated when I said I was not interested in gold plated frames he suggested maybe next time you can buy them in a manner which almost suggested that I could not afford these Also we had to wait nearly 20 mins to be served as this same person was far more interested in serving customers buying the premium frames The overall experience made me really uncomfortable and since then I have switched to using their online site Its a shame that such people exist because it really puts a dent on your experience I cannot fault the product as it is absolutely on point

Excellent customer service

I had a problem with my lenses which was unfortunate But Neeti was absolutely brilliant with dealing with my concerns She was professional and immensely helpful The frames are superb- really comfortable and solid but unfortunately I prefer to get them glazed by my local optician

Fabulous helpful team in the Coal Yard Kings Cross branch Eye-tests are thorough and staff very helpful Good quality glasses as expected I wish they would have more frame varieties to choose from - therefore only 4 stars Perhaps next time I opt for the made to measure frame service at Cubitts Will be def back

Good customer service after feedback

Just received my repaired glasses Took about 1 week to get it fixed Thanks to Neeti for the close follow-up after I put up my comments on this platform Appreciated her excellent customer service great communication skills and patience Previous comment I recently purchased a frame Flaxman Regular Camo online in August 21 and i realised the frame is a defect after i d made the glasses in late September due to covid restrictions From Singapore In fact i did not realised the defect until my local optician pointed it out There is a gap on the right temple as compared to the left temple

Dissappointed but problem solved

I was really dissappointed Received email informing me my glasses were ready today Went to the Covent Garden store to collect Tried glasses on and they appeared great however it was soon discovered that there was a scratch on the glass so they now have to be remade Clearly an issue with quality control prior to being despatched to store Sam in customer services was super helpful however the timeline for receiving repacement glasses was not speedy therefore i went to the store and cancelled order I decided to buy the same frames which i will have made up elsewhere A full refund has been promised Will update review on how long refund takes

Eye test nice and relaxed but not cheap

I visited Cubitts for an eye test which involved paying extra for an OCT scan Compared to the opticians I normally visit the tests were at a relaxed pace as the whole procedure took about an hour The consultation included any observations found on the OCT scan of my eyes which revealed a problem or two The optometrist has asked me to follow up a problem which could be a family related condition by consulting my sister and reporting back to the optometrist for a possible referral Would I receive this attention from other places I am not sure The price for everything was 65 which is more than most opticians charge but I would say is worth it because of the slightly longer time taken for all the tests I know Cubitts used to offer a discount on their frames if you visited them for an eye test It would be nice to bring that back of course
