Terrible Service if they break

Firstly credit where credit is due The glasses are excellent and will last you at least a couple of years I bought 2 pairs and one lasted 4 years They also looked great right till the end Sadly covid exposed appalling service and customer care from this company People in lock down still need to see I had a broken pair of spectacles from Cubitts that needed repairing They wouldn t repair the specs for less than a new pair Fine lets buy a new pair Due to the law I needed an up to date prescription Fine off to specsavers near me to minimise covid exposure I got the needed prescription Now according to Cubitts customer service agent All I needed was a prescription and they d put together my new specs I was delighted but it took quite a while to get things in place as I wanted 3 new pairs After new pairs were sent out without prescription I tried them on and was delighted However it s at this point the customer service agent decides to drop the bombshell that I need to come into the store to complete the process She d had my prescription for about a month and failed to mention that the whole process of ordering online was useless to me as my prescription wasn t inline with their online ordering process What angers me is that she then said oh don t worry you can come in some other time and get the prescription done at a later date ie walk around with broken glasses until the lockdown restrictions end and it s safe to come out Obtuse is the right word for this companies service I d suggest your local opticians or sadly Specsavers I m not convinced you d get better service but at least you don t need to battle into town from the country to get your eyes measured something they ve already done with me but obviously lost the records In short Buy local and avoid the London hype about this company you ll regret it unless you happen to live next door to them You wouldn t keep your doctor 20 miles from you and you certainly shouldn t keep your opticians far away from you either

Frames okay but worst lenses I have ever had

Had a review before that gave them four stars But that was before I have properly wore them Now I can only say from experience for the price charged the frames are okay But the lenses are the worst quality of any glasses I have ever had after such a short time of wearing them I only ever wore at the weekend until lockdown Because of the lock down I am currently unable to take them to show the shop Because I don t live near it would be a expensive long trip They asked for a photo when I said but photographing glass was impossible Will not buy again

Good intentions but online ordering needs serious work

Online ordering is in serious need of upgrading - at the moment you can t choose the colour lenses you want to go with your sunglasses frames I had to cancel one order as the system defaulted to the wrong lens colour and place another order over the phone A shame given how hard Cubitts tries to give good customer service

What a mess Thank goodness for Sam

Bummer I ve loved Cubitts for over three years My most recent experience is enough to never make me want to purchase from them again I can just about get past the revoltingly pretentious new brand site as I like the frames Nowhere on the site does it say you will be waiting two weeks for them Although had I only had to wait two weeks it would be fine Having emailed at the 1 week stage I was told quite promptly to wait for automated emails this is quite normal and advised a date of May 30th When that rolled by I reached out again and was ignored I watched the tracker send my glasses to quality control where they apparently sat for three days before being shipped At this point we re three weeks from purchase An email arrived at the same time to say there was a delay but they had been sent When the frames arrived they were great Apart from the two mismatched sets of holes drilled for nose pads that greeted me I emailed back customer service It s now been two days with no reply No answer to the phone either The new luxurious packaging claims It wouldn t be unreasonable to ask why go to so much trouble when it comes to spectacles Why indeed I didn t ask because they didn t bother I really want to like Cubitts still but the pivot to pretentious marketing coupled with awful customer service is a bold journey that I won t be following them on EDIT After this review Sam Cubitts community manager reached out and offered to rectify the poor quality by shipping a new set of frames to me as priority These took 6 days door to door and were great While I really appreciate Sam doing this extra legwork it s a shame that Cubitts are currently experiencing growing pains identity issues I hope that if I come around again they re fixed

Disappointed

Slightly disappointed after leaving a message to the CS team on their website and never got a response after leaving it a few days I just wanted to share my experiencefelt it best to let others know My second time using Cubitts having had an initial great experience a few years ago at their Borough branch their shops practises are inviting and products great On that note I wanted some new glasses and an updated prescription prolonged after the difficulties of the ongoing pandemic I visited one of the new Belgravia branch - eye test was done carefully the optometrist was brilliant I then got some new frames selected with a different CS agent who was also really good Got a message to collect a week later this is where it fell short Had an unpleasant experience with a different CS person who really could not be bothered to go over any aftercare or be in any way attentive The whole experience was very uncomfortable and disappointing having spent a fair amount of money as well I wanted some clip on sunglasses and the person just said they didn t have it without checking I grabbed my specs and went to a different branch of Cubitts in SoHo where I was served with the standard of service expected and managed to get the accessory I needed I will not be making any grand statements of not using them again I paid a good deal of money and will wear these specs - the glasses are nice enough though I ve had to make adjustments myself to sit comfortably but I am frankly quite disappointed It does feel like that they are just like every other retailer on the high street now that money has exchanged hands they don t need to deal with you no longer

Good instore service however frames vary in quality

Good in-store service however frames can vary in quality I have had a Herbrand for a couple of years now and have loved it worn it regularly and had it fitted It has been amazing I then bought an Aldenham frame Since I bought that frame I have had issues with the way it fits its uncomfortable it feels quite flimsy and it is a pain to adjust It does not sit on my face well and despite going into the store to get it adjusted in-store staff are great the problem still persists and I really wish I did not buy this frame It is not the quality I expected from Cubitts and I was quite let down especially when I called customer service and explained the situation to them and they said as it is out of the warranty period they can t do anything for me I did ask if they would be willing to allow me to swap for another frame or at least get a discount for another frame if I gave this one back and they said no Overall I am quite disappointed as this is not the service I expected from Cubitts whats more disappointing is that I have been telling all of my family and friends to go to Cubitts over the past couple of years only to have been let down when I have an issue with a frame

Glasses delivered to another branch

Got my notification my glasses were ready I live 30 miles out of town found the time 5 days later to go and collect them from Soho When I arrived my glasses could not be found Great After checking the computer my notification came from the Notting Hill branch Huh I was told sorry several times but not offered a solution I then asked myself could I go to Notting Hill and collect them Yes I was told but it shuts in an hour I went outside to consider it and decided that I d not done the journey before didn t want to risk it being closed I re-entered the Soho branch to ask for them to be posted to me without fitting Yes I was told I was then told that it might be ok as a staff member was heading over anyway I got my glasses but what was supposed to be a 10 minute visit turned into a 2 hour rigmarole I was angry but kept my mouth shut

Snapped while cleaning

Snapped while cleaning I generally like this brand and the designs I have two of the same design in different colours However I was cleaning a pair that was less than a year old and they just snapped in my hand To replace them meant paying again Which was disappointing I will and recommend shopping around

Nice company bad quality glasses

Good customer service and nice designs not too expensive but the quality of the glasses is lacking Lenses scratched too easily and they snapped at the nose bridge after only about a year of use

Bought my 1st pair of spectacles with so much issues

Bought my 1st pair of spectacles flaxman in 2021 Within a few months the temple arm slides out from the metal holder Return the specs to Cubitts for a free repair 6-8 months later same issues happened again Pay replacement delivery fees to change a new temple arm But weeks later the temple arm slides out from the metal holder Obviously the temple arm is not new replacement Most likely they adjust the old temple arm and take it as done Definitely a quality issue here Sad to encounter this kind of problem for first-time customer Customer Service is good though Unfortunately quality checks are lacking If cubitts wants to check the record Can look at order number 001386618 You can see the number of times i d changed the temple arm issue
