Lack of follow up and complete lack duty of care
Six months ahead of time I had booked a check up appointment with Fiona our regular dentist The appointment was for my daughter who attends University in the US and is in London infrequently Two weeks before I got a call saying Fiona would be away on holiday and the appointment needed to be cancelled clearly her holiday was booked well in advance but no one cared to inform us This was an issue as my daughter was only in London for 2 weeks After much insistence she was was able to see another dentist at the practice At the re-scheduled appointment she was told she had many teeth with decay She has seen Fiona annually her whole life and a hygienist 2x each year This was a shock and no explanation was offered It took over a month after endless calls to the practice and countless emails to receive a treatment letter In spite of the long wait it was vague and it took another month to get the information I required on exactly which teeth had decay and what the recommendations were It is now been 10 weeks I tried to book appointments over the Christmas break when my daughter is next in London and Fiona has no time for the follow up treatment we are once again left hanging I am shocked by the manner in which we have been treated I have spent countless hours merely seeking to understand my daughter s medical situation and there has been no sense of care It was suggested that Fiona and I speak on the phone for 10min at agreed times In both instances she did not call as scheduled I am beyond disappointed and shocked by the lack of care and professionalism
