Cowboy builder forced to pay me back

A cowboy builder ended up costing me a lot of money by using this company we managed to get the money back it took a while but that was just bittersweet as the builder in question got a nice visit from the bailiffs and was forced to pay in full

As much as it pains me to have to give them 5 stars they could ve really gone to town on me and they didn t I got a parking ticket which Facebook s legal minds told me I could ignore They were wrong I also ignored DCB s letters Still wrong I ended up getting a court summons I didn t ignore this The irony is had I made my appeal properly the court mediator said I would no doubt have the initial ticket overturned and the likelihood was that if I went to court I would lose as I had ignored all previous letters So DCB agreed to a lower amount of 85 the initial ticket price plus legal costs and I had 14 days to pay it Admittedly I have a habit of burying my head in the sand and often forget I forgot to pay it within the 14 days It clearly stated on the court instructions that if I failed to pay DCB legal could go straight back to court and apply for a default on my credit file and I would ve again been liable for the full amount of 240 Day 19 I woke up and suddenly remembered I made payment and emailed DCB legal pleading my case but got no response I called later that morning and spoke with a helpful lady who spoke to my case handler she said someone would contact me with a decision 20 mins later she called me back and said that they ve accepted the payment and it s now settled This was entirely my fault and a default on my credit file would ve cost me dearly and as much as I hate to leave a debt collection company that I ve had to pay a 5 review on this occasion they deserve it as it was entirely of my own doing and they really could ve cost me so much more if they wanted Thank you for being understanding
