Trust the solicitors but not the doctors they hire

I Claimed for an injury that happend at work went to Digby brown Kirkcaldy name was my solicitor He was perfect throughout the only prob I had was the near 80yr old doctor who initially examined me and told me my pain and symptoms were psychosomatic And I was a poor candidate for surgery Two weeks later I underwent a full anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with lots of drilling screwing and a year of physio to recover Do not trust their doctors especially name at the Albany business centre Dunfermline he is a retired kook and past it in everyway Nearly screwed my claim up altogether Apart from that name he solicitor was great Just avoid the people that give their medical opinions I believe I lost 10000 s because of this

Disappointed

I was allocated a young junior lawyer who did not have experience I do feel that more could have been made of my case including the lasting physical emotional damage Now that we are in Covid times my anxiety has returned I m on hyper alert and don t think this will ever get better Also because I was between jobs at the time it was difficult to give me loss of earnings award and I suspect this was way under what it might have been I had hoped to keep my small payout for treats home improvements but now am having to use it to pay mortgage bills I have to say overall I was disappointed at the outcome - I lost a year of my life and am not the same person now Next time I would look for a lawyer which makes more of lasting emotional effects

They took far too long to deal with

They took far too long to deal with relatively simple matters Too many unnecessary delays I had the impression that my case was not important enough for them to deal with in a timeous fashion

Not as satisfying a result as I was lead to believe from the very persuasive advertising Progress slow weak representation and quick to accept the fait accompli Probably wouldn t go with this company again

I had to continuously chase for

I had to continuously chase for updates and felt quite let down with the end result compared to the advise received at the beginning of the process I felt like no one really fought for me in the end

Should have got a greater amount of compensation

I felt that the settlement was far too low Not really left much choice but to accept I was put off by lawyer I also felt that Digby Brown and the defenders had decided the outcome months before the final settlement was offered

Lovely people but disappointed about not being fully told

My experience was very good with the Lawyer however I was very disappointed on not being told the full details of my money reciept and lost a lage sum of money by not understanding this I believe I should have had explained what the implications were of my two choices by my lawyer

Could have got more compensation on my own

i feel that the level of compensation i got was a discrace even tho it was the first offer and i was told by digby and brown that it was a good offer and to take it i felt as if my hands were tied and when i asked what digby and brown made from it i was given no figer and pratically ignored

Would have been better with initial offer from insurance company

Felt like I had to contact Caroline constantly for an update It dragged on for well over a year even though the third party admitted liability and should have been straight forward Wasn t offered much more than the initial offer from the insurance company when they contacted me direct was advised by caroline at Digby Brown to decline the offer although now I feel it would have been more beneficial to take it as to get a better offer we would have had to go to court however I suffer from anxiety and that would have been awful

Not the quickest

Did they do anything special Probably not Did they take long enough to have my case settled try a year and a half for a straight forward accident Now im sure they will want to reply but as some firms are settling claims in under six months it would seem that they don t do quick
