I still haven t received my home report 13 calendar days after inspection took place despite two telephone calls enquiring about it

They sent the most incompetent person with two legs to do a survey what a disaster he was I would never use them again next time I will call Mickey mouse at least he has two brain cells and does not make up untruths to cover up his incompetence

I only use your company because I need a home report and frankly the home report isn t worth the paper it s written on

Are home reports worth the paper they are written on particular when they are full of assumptions The report has to be paid for up front in our case 950 00 before you can see the draft copy which means you have a limited amount of leverage if you can t agree on an issue It is your duty to read through the report thoroughly before authorising the factual content In our case the issue was the under measurement of the gross internal floor area which is an important fact in marketing a property The company refuses to acknowledge our measurements or to even come out to re-measure the property We have been flexible enough to omit a substantial area on the first floor in the eves which is a fully insulated 1200mm lined ceiling and fully carpeted We have also omitted a substantial utility room adjoined to the house Yet their measure is still under our measurements and still they insist their measurements are final This narcissistic approach to customer service is very childish at best and very boring The company if they bothered look at our property marketing which I know they have but do it more closely they would be able to read the dimensions recorded on the floor plan by an independent local company before the home report survey was instructed The floor plan records the rooms individually excluding internal walls and built in wardrobes yet still measures more than that of dm hall I know for a fact the dm hall surveyor measured the length and breadth of the property not individual rooms which included walls cupboards and built in wardrobes I have been in the building trade since 1983 sub-contracting on volume new build developments of sites of up to 120 units and as many as 10 sites at any one time throughout the 1980 s all my earnings at that time were calculated by the square meter So I am well versed in measuring internal gross floor area using a traditional factual steel measuring tape I have built many houses and extensions including this current property and I know full well the area of my own house If anyone needs some reassurance when instructing a home report and has to pay up front use a method of payment that gives you a degree of protection Contrary to the beliefs of some customers do have rights

Very unhappy with our valuation and the tenuous reasons for it Despite many internal and external improvements our house is the same value as 2011 apparently

Do you ever wish that you d never taken someone on to do a job That s how I feel about DM Hall I asked the surveyor a Director of the East Coast division of DMHall to do a survey on the condition of a commercial property but he also took it upon himself to do a valuation which I didn t ask for His secretary even sent me an invoice for a valuation survey which I queried and told her that I wanted a survey of the property and not a valuation I was told that it didn t matter My surveyor was the worst at starting the job communicating and even giving me the report a week after finishing the visit I m trying to buy a business here and needed that report yesterday However here we are after two days of waiting for a callback and the report and I got nothing I was then given the ultimatum of paying for it or losing it no negotiation I chose losing it after all he had given me the guts of the survey verbally beforehand and that s all I really needed from a conditional survey I will be reporting him and this company to the RICS Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors for their appalling behaviour 1 08 2023 AdditionalWhat do you know they ve hacked my email account and deleted my emails to and fro between their representative Not all jut 95 of them the incriminating ones I ve asked Yahoo Customer services to retore them but it might not be possible Lucky I kept some copies

Terrible company to deal with different values from the same company that increased after complaining made up valuations unable to take justified challenges and management are opionated and brash Would not recommend or use again

Home report completed by this company valued my property at less than it was 3 years ago despite improvements such as a new bathroom fencing flooring etc and a very competitive market in my area They claimed they could not value it higher simply because no other property in the street had been valued at that Issues flagged in the home report included this company stating fencing that is just over a year old has wear and tear Also a 2 and 1 2 year old bathroom being numbered as 2 because of an old water storage tank There are more examples of where the surveyor has found flaw were previous surveys have not When I asked for their professional quality assurance processes I was ignored I am therefore very displeased with the survey carried out and the dismissive manner in which I have been spoken to by the surveyor who carried out it out UPDATE nearly 3 weeks later and despite promises of a valuation review no nearer having a home report so I can market my home properly Communication has been poor and unhelpful AVOID USING THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

EPC surveyor did not access the loft assumed no insulation was present and scored the property a D There is insulation and he subsequently re-scored the property a C Sloppy job in the first place not to have checked the loft

As a paying customer for the rent of a large business building in Galashiels the service and response is nonexistent I have contacted numerous people and times about the issues with the building and no one seems to be bothered Awful experience and if I could move somewhere else I wouldn t hesitate a second
