Immediate Replacement For Pump And Motor

I ordered Doheny s Inground Pool Pump 115 230V 1 HP 0 9 THP I had to modify the pipework on the suction side of the pump as it was about 1 2 inch higher No big deal to do I connected the two leads on power in connected the ground wire then connected the grounding wire from the grounding rod to the lug on the motor case When I turned on the power and pushed the pump button on the control panel I only got a hum and the GFCI tripped I cut off power double checked the wiring and turned on the power from the main breaker at the house When I called for the pump again same issue I called customer service and explained the above The lady immediately said she would send out a new unit as I told her I was not attempting a start again The new one arrived the next day just like the original order Got it all hooked up and this one started with no issue It is like I told the lady that day This is made by man It can and will mess up May have been a bad capacitor causing the issue My issue was solved with one call to Doheny s I am sorry I do not remember the Customer Service person I spoke with She was very helpful and is to be commended for her help The pump and motor is running just fine and the cost was half of replacing with the original brand
