Terrible user experience to the point where I suspect it s almost intentionally confusing Very high fees for users Wire transfers keep failing for no apparent reason with valid banking detail that I ve used with other stock traders before but they sure still charge you a transaction fee for every attempt you make at getting their terrible product to work No way to just contact them over chat or email support though their website is full of references telling you to send them a message I m assuming they re around because they must be cheap and easy for companies to use to hand out RSUs Can t come up with any other reason for them to still be in business

The service and ever changing rules at Etrade are the worst A customer never knows what to expect from one action to the next It s different every time Customer service is the worst All they can do is send faqs and platform messages never receive a reply if it s even working Their attitude about your money is like your ordering at a fast food joint It means nothing GARBAGE company

Can you award less than one star I have been trying for months to do a very simply registration change The form is ridiculous 12 pages seaking info about income and investments and so on--simply information mining and must be notarized Form says 10 business days to process Well we are at end of second month and nothing has been done REpeated calls to customer service just get this is a manual process and take a long time Questioning about timeline gets we don t know Seriously this is the worst service I have ever received from a brokerage Schwab T Rowe and Fidelity all got changes made in a matter of a few weeks so I have no idea why eTrade is taking so long and is so secretive about how long until this application will be processed Moral of the story is to pick another brokerage

If only I could give less stars
If only I could give them less stars I am trying to complete my dead father s estate and this is the final asset to be dealt with I have filled in the same form multiple times - each with a promise to be called back at a specific time then being left waiting by the phone for hours with no one getting in touch Having contacted them about this they then changed the story to 2-3 days and no specific time The back and forth has only made dealing with a horrible thing worse I wouldn t touch this company with a barge pole They are holding the money ransom and it is run by people with no empathy or humanity

The company has poor customer service
The company has poor customer service They don t respond to questions via their online chat There s a lot of problems with the platform in general For example your cosy basis will just change for no reason Tabs don t open I asked the representatives at etrade and all they say is it s an on going issue they are trying to resolve Yet it won t matter to them when you have a trade in jeopardy from their erroneous system I recommend not using this company if you re a trader in the market

They failed to complete a charitable donation within the year that I requested it Even though I contacted them 3 times in the same tax year they assured me it would go through and it did not They admitted they dropped the ball on their end and could not figure out a way to make up for their mistake

It took over 30min plus and put on hold multiple times over 10min plus for rep to check why my account was flagged I updated my income and now they say it will take up to 2weeks for me to buy any new securities I do not recommend them

Etrade customer for 20 years but no more
Etrade customer for 20 years When Morgan Stanley took over I suddenly had no access to my account online Took me several months several letters multiple calls with long long wait times to even talk to someone and multiple submissions related to proving my identity It was such an onerous frustrating experience that I am now preparing to close my ETrade account and go elsewhere
