We have used Billing Better for renting

We have used Billing Better for renting an apartment and the tenancy ended in Feb 2023 We have assumed all the bills have been settled However we have recently received a chaser regarding that we have not paid a water bill during the tenancy It is so frustrated We have contacted Homebox in late December 2024 but until now still no further updates

Wish it could be zero stars

Wish it could be zero stars This company is not transparent at all I signed up under the impression that they sort all of the bills and pay them all and all I need to do is pay them or so I was told It s 12 months on and there has still never been a bill paid on time and never any bills from providers uploaded When we ask for bills they upload them weeks later and they have so much money owing Money comes out frommmy end but then it s not clear where it goes Late fees incurred no fault of our own Horrible company not clear with anything and customer service is terrible

You don t need a management company for every task Do it yourself and take control

You don t need to enrich intermediaries for every task take charge and handle things yourself Companies like Homebox profit by buying tariffs at lower rates from energy providers and selling them to you at a higher price What s worse when you re with Homebox you can t change your energy company while staying in their service something that should be your right to do Today I decided to pay the cancellation fee and leave their service I switched directly to an energy provider of my choice and I m now paying less than I was before even with the fee Not only did I save money but I also regained control over my choices and expenses It s worth taking the time to explore better options yourself

Closing Accounts Without Consent

I have never contracted with Homebox Billing Better nor had anything to do with them and yet they have closed my water and council tax accounts and opened new ones without my authorisation or knowledge If that s how they deal with their non-customers I dread to think what it must be like to be involved with them Setting up utility bills etc is easy I cannot understand why folk would wish to add an extra layer of complexity and risk having accounts messed up payments not made debt recovery action initiated and credit score compromised by involving an intermediary UpdateThe crossover between the agency sharing my information and me setting up my accounts independently was 6 months i e I had it all setup 6 months before Homebox interfered

Cancelling random people s accounts

I see that another commenter on here has shared this experience I have never dealt with Homebox I own the flat that I occupy and pay the bills Have done for several years However one of the rented flats in my building recently changed tenants and their letting agency signed them up with Homebox Homebox made a serious error in their address data and have cancelled MY bills water power council tax and possibly others I only found out after receiving closing statements from each company This has taken no small amount of time to rectify on my end I don t yet know if the tenants whose bills were supposed to be handled have indeed actually had their accounts correctly set up Which I suppose is a trading standards issue And it s frankly perturbing that a random third party is going around doing this I shouldn t be asking my council why and how somebody else has cancelled my tax account My wife and I registered a complaint with Homebox via their official channels three days ago that has not yet been addressed Shoddy and sinister and I ve no reason to doubt what others have suggested that many of the more glowing reviews are not 100 credible

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs I saw the bad reviews and still signed up after I was assured that the staff had all received training and resolved all issues I had zero issues the first few months except that my electric bill with Rebel energy was 158 p m - despite being a single person in a property with gas and electric I then began being double charged and having unauthorised money deducted from my account My bills were always paid late even though my direct debit was paid on time and received multiple late notice letters Each time I spoke to someone on the phone I got passed around as no one knew what was going on - its like a bunch of teenagers work in their call centre I have since changed energy providers and cancelled my account - they refuse to accept it and keep pressuring me to stay with them They have even tried to charge me multiple times for bills which I have paid directly myself Absolute scam artists Believe the bad reviews - Do not sign up to them

SCAMMY COMPANY FULL OF FAKE REVIEWS DON T EVEN THINK OF OPENING AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM I LOST APPROXIMATELY 1000 BECAUSE OF THEM HAVING A BUSINESS ACCOUNT AND A HIDDEN DEAL WITH REBEL ENERGY YOU HAVE NO ACCESS TO SEE THE BILLS THEY JUST SEND RANDOM AMOUNTS TO EVERY SUPPLIERI LOST 130 BECAUSE THEY DIDN T SWITCH MY ENERGY PLAN ON TIME WATER BILL UNDERPAID BY 85 AT THE END OF THE TENANCYCOUNCIL TAX OVERPAID BY MORE THAN 500 158 FOR BOTH GAS ELECTRICITY AS A SINGLE TENANT COMPARED TO 67 IM PAYING NOW BE AWARE THEY HAVE FAKE REVIEWS TOO JUST LOOK AT THEM ALL BOTS

I am deeply dissatisfied with my recent

I am deeply dissatisfied with my recent experiences with Homebox I ordered a shoe cabinet online which I received today The technician who came to fix it didn t know how to do it properly when i pointed out he started shouting and yelling at me in very rude and disrespectful way and to make matters worse he broke part of the wood during the process This is not my first negative experience with Homebox I also purchased a sofa from them got damaged after 1 month Despite following up multiple times I ve been waiting for over a month for it to be repaired I expected much better product quality and customer service from a brand like Homebox Unfortunately the poor workmanship unprofessional staff and delays in resolving issues have left me extremely frustrated I do not recommend Homebox based on my experiences

AVOID AVOID AVOID If I could leave a negative star i would We relied on them to pay our bills and after one year we realised they NEVER paid our council taxes Now we re in a situation where we need to catch up by paying an exhortation amount per month They never give us any warning or explanation the customer service is impossible to get through and unhelpful at best They didn t take any of the responsibility Disgusting company

Ridiculous

Responding to my previous review with a template and not even editing it with the correct contact number This is the kind of customer service they offer And obviously a LIE that they tried to contact me ridiculous Once again AVOID AT ALL COST
