Poor customer service

I had two issues that happened during my trip First my luggage was delayed on the flight IB6409 I was told at the airport in Mexico City that the luggage will be delivered to my hotel in Oaxaca but the staff in Oaxaca airport didn t want to do it I had to go to the airport myself I was told it will come same day evening but it came 2 days later I spend my holiday time and money to go back to the airport to collect the suitcase On my flight back IB3004 the luggage didn t come again At Barcelona airport I was told it will be delivered on Monday 21st but it didn t come till 23rd As I understand delayed luggage can happen the way it was dealt with and customer support was very very disappointing

Used to be an industry leader

This company used to be an industry leader and has become the laughing stock of the industry since British Airlines bought it and reduced it to its economy carrier to lift its own status I ve never experienced worst customer service or difficulties in upgrading a ticket Think about it I wanted to pay more for a business seat yet the process was so gruesome I decided to not pursue the upgrade after 25 minutes on calls getting transferred from one place to another or listening to useless recordings Either they reinvent themselves quickly or this type of company will soon disappear

Avoid Iberia if you can

Website is confusing and useless Made me sorry I booked with this airline from MIA to MAD Booked upgrade seats to Madrid and they applied the upgrade to the return flight Changed my wife s seat to the one next to mine Paid twice for it Again horrible web experience Why did they separate our seat assignments when booked Took 3 hours to get boarding passes No thank you Great staff at the airport Very understanding and helpful Once we boarded we settled into our tight seats Bathrooms were filthy Food was quite good Breakfast was a bread roll and coffee Could not wait to disembark We fly home next week Not looking forward to it

Iberia just like Ryanair

Never have I received a worst customer service from an airline than the one from Iberia - especially flying as a loyal Iberia Plus member on a Business Class ticket Iberia lost my luggage now for 14 days A suitcase with all my belongings and worth hundreds of dollars let alone the personal value of these items I have had no support no communication and not a single capable or helpful person at the Iberia Customer Support neither at the airport nor at the Call Center When I call the call center they can hardly speak English or German and only say that they do not know anything about the suitcase Mind you this is the Iberia-Luggage-Service-Center that can neither tell me where my luggage is right now nor tell me why my luggage hasn t been delivered yet nor give me the phone number for the delivery company that is supposed to deliver the suitcase or if I can pick up the suitcase somewhere The rude representative also refused to forward me to her boss or someone capable of answering any of my questions She literally said to me I don t know anything and I cannot help you And I cannot transfer you to anyone who can I will never fly with Iberia again and I will also let anyone I meet know to avoid Iberia This is a customer service experience that didn t need to be so painful rude and devastating when you deal with the most important possessions of a person This could have been a bad situation turned into a great customer service experience and customer bonding through providing actual support and information An opportunity missed
